Anyone here playing the online demos of these games?

CMR4 seems to me like hte car weighs 10000 pounds and the fact the game doesn't recognize my x box controllers analoge buttons sucks even more.

However, I just love the DTM and V8 supercar racing in Race Driver 2 though.

I'm on-line on TOCA Race Driver 2 PC version with the name 'BigAccidentRacing'. I'm there most nights Australian time.

Oh yeah didn't say my name...

I'm xBillyElliotx and I'm there on and off through the day.

What I want to do is try and get a decent length race (15 lapsish) in the DTM and V8 supercars and get some good drivers.

Do some warmup 3 lap races to get a handle on the cars and then go to some longer races.

When I get(or if) broadband I will be playing Race driver 2 online alot! My nickname will mostylikely be radicool02.:)

Just tried the online demo of race driver 2 with the dtm merc. And I have to say that I'm not liking this game at all. There's not enough realism in the car physics. It goes as on rails even at ridiculously high speeds on those corners. It looks good but that's about the things I like.. Think they should have concentrated in making one series good and not making 30+ series in one game which probably all will lack in quality..

I still just like it for the online aspect. I can still get some close racing in with some guys. I did a 10 lap race and this one guy and I were swapping positions the whole race.

I agree, the physics are arcade like... but they also have two modes: simulation, pro-simulation.

Most races are on simulation, have yet to try pro-simulation which are supposed to be less arcade physics.

I understand the final physics are quite different to the demo. The arcade (or 'simulation' physics are quite fun, but a lot less difficult than pro-sim - you don't get horribly spanked for your mistakes, but can still lose time with wheel spin, locked wheels and the like. Imagine the original PSX Toca games, without the sudden breakaway.

That's through the wheel setting, anyway - I have heard the 'gamepad' setting is much more forgiving, particularly on throttle and braking inputs.

On 'simulation' (as opposed to 'pro-sim' mode) it is still possible to get yourself into fairly serious trouble, particularly in the more powerful cars.

It's still 1000% better than TOCA Race Driver - the cars actually feel connected to the steering, so it's much better to drive. The Formula Fords in particular are a hoot to drive, both in-game and on-line.

I don't ;like the formula fords, they spin real easy around corners when using my wheel.
