Does anybody here knows some co-operative games, that I could play with my 7 years old son?
He hate to loose, so he doesn't want to play all the ordinary two-player modes with me.;)
One game we have played with great success is the old arcade racer Rumble Racing, where our points in the races are added together to give a team score. Very enjoyable for both of us.:D

I don't know about ps2, Nintendo is more known for games like that. I.e. the new mario kart has a 2 player function where you help out each other in a "driver/codriver" team.

super smash bros.love that game and you can play in teams against all the Nintendo´s character´s....this is starting to be like a commersial :p

He's 7 so I don't think it's appropriate for him but Contra is awesome for co-op mode. You could also play most sports games in co-op mode I *think* - been a looooonng time since I played madden.

We have played some soccer, but I think both of us find it very unsatisfactory, that it is considerable more difficult playing together than alone.:)

The Ps2 has the best coop games out actually (the Xbox has Halo which is great coop.)
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance is a great coop game (low price too.) It's Dungeons & Dragons meets Gauntlet with high production values. The Sequel is due out in the US in less than a month as well.
The Dynasty Warriors series is great coop fun. Get 3 or 4, you can't go wrong. (avoid the X-treme legends versions.)
Guncon games are always good coop fun (Time Crisis 2, Vampire Nights, Ninja Assault.)
Timesplitters 2 is coop
I believe the new Lord of the Rings: Return of the King game can be played cooperatively (maybe after it's unlocked in single player mode though.)
Fallout: Brotherhood of steel is coop, and due out in 2 weeks, and the big one to me is Everquest: Champions of Norrath due in a few months.
My vote goes with Dynasty warriors or Baldur's Gate.

Both the Gamecube and Xbox have some, but not as many as the Ps2.

Thanks Tom.

I'll check out the reviews of the games you listed to find out how scary :nervous: these games are.

Ghost recon is very good coop game. Just beat it on easy in a couple hours and all the levels are there. then you can go through them all on a team doing missions, just killing the people, or killing each other. Very fun but for a 7 year old... your choice.

But if you want the 2 player games. go for gamecube, many many many good 2 player games. Mario Kart, Mario party, super monkey ball...

No prob.
I just read a preview on Fallout:BOS and it features quite a bit of profanity, and is sexually explicit (whatever that will mean.) so I'm pretty sure that one's out (either that or your 7 year old will be the most popular kid on the block ;))
Baldur's gate: DA is on the edge for a 7 year old. It's hack and slash like gauntlet but more realistic. So that means BG: DA2 and Everquest are in the same arena. (plus I remember someone telling me they had to set ground rules with their 9 year old about constantly going into the menu to check what items they just picked up.)
Dynasty warriors is pure mayhem on a battlefield. You pick from around 40+ ancient chinese warriors and play through their storyline. There is no blood or gore, just alot of "K.O's" and disappearing bodies.
I threw up a message on Gamefaqs' PS2 board, and I'll see if anyone posts anything a little more reasonable as a choice that you two can play (while retaining the good parent title.)
:)

What about Timesplitters 2?
The reviews I read was quite positive. I think my son would love playing different historical periods, with all that great weapons, that would give access to. Anyway the concept seems perfect for a fresh young boy, but do you know if it's very bloody?
Baldurs Gate i think i could borrow from a friend, if so I sure will give it a try. :)
