I'm running a 6.1 setup through an optical connection and I've noticed that the sound stage seems really off when in cockpit view.
I'm not sure if it's intended, but if I'm in a RHD car and the engine is technically slightly to my left, the sound from the engine is only coming out of that left speaker. To make matters worse, it's horribly muted (being in the interior) and the sound of passing cars is louder than my own car. All other sounds seem OK (reverse view comes out of the center loud and clear), it's just this one view. I'm probably going to have to go back to automatic because I can't even hear my shift points.
I've tried messing with the stereo settings (living room, small theater, large theater) but it doesn't really help. It just seems like the sound processor is being to literal when in cockpit view.
