Im about to give up on this game, which is a real shame as i loved the campaign but the multiplayer online now is a complete joke..

First few days i was doin okay and my kdr was pickin up nicely, im not the best but can hold my own, then after downloading the patch yday ive gone from 1.22 to 1.06 lol, hardly ever get more kills than deaths - every time i go one on one particularly the other guy gets me, killcam shows him unloading on me before i even fired lol, farcical, it appears that IW have incorporated a setup whereby ppl with good connections are now suffering due to a lag compensation directive..utter garbage! lol...i went back to black ops yday and was a joy to play online..so its definetly not my home setup...plenty others moaning about it...sort it IW!!...not happy ...

I was looking for a thread on COD MW3 about 10 mins ago then this came up ha !

Right well to respond to your post / thread i'm going to break this game down and give my own very brief views.

Campaign:

Thoroughly enjoyed the campaign finished on Veteran extremely easy veteran campaign though - people complained MW2 campaign on Vet was too easy this is another mark down on difficulty from me but still I really enjoyed the story and the gameplay.

Spec Ops: Missions

I was disappointed that MW2 did not offer any Spec Ops missions as DLC but with the true Infinity Ward team leaving / was sacked (I don't know the story) I kind of predicted the DLC wouldn't be true to what might have been planned.

With MW3 Spec ops again is toned down and not as difficult but still a bit more fun than the campaign in aspects as you can play co-op.

I have already got 48 stars and completed all in veteran - MW2 took me a lot longer to get the full 69 stars.

Spec Ops: Survival Mode

Also enjoying this new addition to the Modern Warfare series, definately fits in nicely as Treyarch has the famous Zombie - mode only real complaints is the maximum of only two players can play - if you look at Horde on Gears 3 you can have 5 and adds to the fun however and I struggle to get a game in matchmaking (not sure if its just me that has this issue).

Currently i'm trying to reach wave 15 on all map varients.

Multiplayer:

Ok heres where the game for me is just like Groundhog day, how can the series / activision get away with it every time - releasing the same multiplayer experience each and every time - its just been copy and pasted then tweaked since COD 4 and still (including myself) people keep flocking to buy it on release.

I have played enough for me to realise DICE with BF3 are at least trying to improve and innovate with their multiplayer game building the game with a new engine adding game modes and features.

Activision look to be set out to just make money - why improve and spend cash on what sells already eh? Until people stop buying this will remain the case.

The last thing I want to add about Multiplayer is that there is very few team games that require actual team play - all everyone cares about is K/D, K/D does not represent how good you are as a player.

Nice post and yep BF3 has certainly upped its ante and made big big strides on COD, very welcome competition now ;)

Are u suffering on the MW3 multiplayer tho like me? My experience has really put me off the online side of things, which i loved most :ouch:

Well as Activision refuse to go down the dedicated server route (now im not saying EA servers for BF3 are good either as i've had problems there too) it leaves people at a disadvantage when they have a slightly weaker connection which is another reason how good you are cannot be represented by your K/D ratio.

To answer your question - yes, people have killed me with what seems like one bullet and well before I turn a corner too - I just turn it off at that stage.

I knew it would be kiddy junk and passed on it. Since CoD4 it's been going downhill. Now it's the most watered down FPS on the market. Takes zero skill, just a complete joke. Leave your guns at home kiddies 'cause we're up against Activision knives which always win.....umm yeah, good job there.....

I rented MW3. The multiplayer for the MW games has always been a joke. MW3 is pretty much exactly the same thing as MW2. But with a much shorter campaign. Campaign was fun but 5 hours is sad. I do like their version of zombie mode. Not zombies but more of a horde/ firefight type mode. Just too bad its only 2 player. Would have been more fun with 4. But Activision is dead set on not making 4 player co-op at all. Which is a shame they are so stubborn about that.

The last COD game I bought was WAW. Its rediculous to make a COD every single year.

I'm really bored with MW3 already just a week out. The campaign is nice, but the multiplayer is the same old same old. Just learn the maps and run as fast as you can with using a gun and perks that let you spray and pray accurately. I was bored with than in COD Blops, and began using just pistols or just certain guns that weren't good, but already am ready to do that in MW3 even though I'm not as good yet as I was in Cod Blops.

I can't wait for Rainbow Six to return, finally a FPS with strategy, the environments force team work, close quarters, no run and gun.

I think the game your looking for is BF3

Possibly, I really want to try it. I'm finishing up Batman Arkham City now and still playing FM4. Thinking about Skyrim for this winter, and my normal 2 month layoff from work. I'm still craving a good shooter so I may trade MW3 for BF3, thanks for the info.

In my opinion, the campaign was actually really good. It was too short (going at a normalish pace, I beat it in 4.5 hours on my first go), but it was really fun and a good time. Spec Ops is okay, nothing special. Multiplayer is an unplayable, rage-inducing, flaming pile of 🤬. I try so hard to enjoy it but I simply cannot find anything positive to say about it. It's worse than Black Ops!

Campaign: 9/10
Spec Ops: 7/10
Multiplayer: -9/10

I would go so far, saying its worse then WaW and CoD3!
I played a few hours online with some friends... Figured out, "Whata hell is this?!"...

Raged for a few minutes!!!

Went back on BF3, smiled and never thought about going back to MW3. :D
I do play on PC... But still MW3 is the biggest disappointment in a long time.

Oddly enough, I actually liked WAW and COD3. COD3 was okay, but forgetable. WAW had some issues, but it was my first Call of Duty game (and first M game), and I have many fond memories of it. Met many of my PSN friends on there, still play with and talk to most of them. But then I bought COD4 to try it out, and fell in love. COD4 was definitely the best game of the franchise.

But yes, I can't really play MW3 and enjoy it. I occasionally get tired of doing laps on Forza, or crashing choppers on BF3, so I try to play it but I can't go one match before getting pissed :banghead:

Wow - guess I must be alone in finding it a fun distraction.

While BF3 is my main draw in terms of FPS, I've been pleasantly surprised by MW3. While the maps do encourage nothing but run and gun and make sniper rifle pretty useless (for me anyway) as a no brainer for a quick blast it hits the spot.

I've started to enjoy it more lately, but only because I'm playing more casually and for the sake of killing stuff, rather than playing it for it being a good game. Even then I still can only play for a bit before getting pissed and raging. I still stand by my assersion that it (or possibly Black Ops) is the worst Call of Duty game ever, and one of the worst FPS's this year.
