Not looking for opinions on how useless the horns feature is (as Varegg pretty much sums up what most of us are thinking), I'm just looking for opinions on how people think we are supposed to collect all the horns in the game.

Not at my PS3 at the moment but I know I have horns with numbers in the high 200's. Besides the odd 1 or 2 horns that you get as race prizes, you only seem to get them for reaching a certain number of cars in your garage. So short of buying well over 2000 cars - which will mean buying dupes - how on earth are PD expecting us to collect the lot? Especially as people have stated in other threads that sometimes you get a paint item instead of a horn, which may push the required number of cars into the 3000s!!

Anyone noticed something I haven't?

You get a horn for every ten cars and a paint for every 30, but you still get a horn aswell. I don't think PD expected anyone to bother collecting them, they are just a novelty feature.
 
If you get paint for every tenth car, then when do you get horns?

I believe it's random whether you get a horn or a paint chip.
 
Does anyone have anyt cool horns?
So far I have only got standard noises but are there any funky ones.
I really want to have the general lee style one!
 
Heya bud,

I'm not really that bothered about my horns, so if you want any of the following I'd be happy to either give you one or two or maybe trade for quite a few of them:

Horn Numbers: 98, 145, 267, 216, 46, 13, 83, 86, 78, 48, 262 & 184
 
Worst thing is you cannot preview what it sounds like so it gets ignored completely. I have loads of them !

They're listed in the Items tab - you can play each one there.

Don't get excited though - I haven't found Colonel Bogey yet :D

Considering PD woke up and saw the light regarding giving people paints as well as museum cards every day. Why could they have not dished out some horns every day too. Still confused as to how PD expect us to collect 270+ horns.
 
Omg, the horns are cool, when you are online if friends or not is awesome to horn to them's, or when you overtake someone you horn (saying goodbye!). It's so cool and thank god they puted horns in the game. I was already accustomed to horns because of Dirt 2.

Is it a must for the 100% completion? If not, then maybe they don't expect you to.

"Dixieland", "La Cucuracha" (the Mexican hat dance), "Call to the Post" or the Calvary Charge would be better than chrome paint. 👍
 
Yeah you guys bitch about how stupid horns are but its a "simulator" and last i checked most cars have horns. Now chrome paint, why the hell is that not the topic of stupidity... stupid paint colors.
 
It seems many people don´t give a **** to horns, so for everyone who wants to collect them it shouldn´t be hard to have them in the marktplace...
 
I have been collecting horns for several weeks now.
In answer to the question 'how are you supposed to collect them?' the answer involves sharing. Giving and Receiving. This is PD's hidden agenda within the game.

If anyone wants to give me their useless horns my PSN is yaksox. I will give you something in return.
 
I've got a question... I;ve been seeing this alot and I'm sorry it's not part of the original post but was mentioned earlier but... Each time i get a new car... wether used car or new car, I get the paint chip... Why is it that other people dont? I have almost the same amount of chips as cars... is that normal?

Most Race cars you don't get a paint chip JGTC cars DMT cars NASCAR cars Rally cars F2007 F10 FGT and if you buy a RUF you don't get a paint chip (guessing because it's a Porsche color).
