Collector's Edition - downloads?

I have a question about the Chrome line cars you get with the collectors edition.
I'm not on the latest firmware on my PS3 and would like to stay that way.

Would it be possible for me to go to use a friends PS3, login into my account, use the codes so that they get connected to my account for future downloads?
 
Strictly speaking I believe you are correct.

But how would you connect to the internet and download your cars on your non-updated PS3?

Well, it will prolly come a time when I DO update, and then I actually wanna be able to play with them.
The plan now is that I can take my save to my friend and we can play on his 60" plasma :)

You'd have to be signed into your PSN account on his PS3 to play your game save otherwise it will not work.

Exactly what I want to do.

1. Log in on friends PS3
2. Use codes to lock them to my account
3. Play on friends PS3 with Chrome lines
4. Play at my PS3 with chrome line (at some point)

Would not work. Chromeline are tied to the game data not game save. You use the codes at your friends and they would be on his GT5 game data not yours. The only way for you to get them then would be gameshare which is breaking PSNs Terms of Service. And if you're PS3 isn't on the current firmware then I'm not sure if you can even get on the PS Store. Here's a solution, update your ps3 and use the codes from your ps3.

So you lose your Chrome lines if you have to re-install the game?

Saves don't transfer Stealth and Chrome line cars.
Stealth and Chrome line cars will automatically added to garage on PS3 where it has been downloaded from PSN store. And they will be deleted from garage automatically on PS3 where those PSN downloads are absent.

So, there is no way to transfer these cars by save. But DLC cars and tracks CAN be transfered by save. The only requirement is version of game should be compatible with DLC. So, you need 2.02 in order to play save with all DLC cars/track bought on another PS3.

Alright, but is it ok if I'm logged in at my friends sometimes and sometimes at my PS3 sometimes then?

What update are you talking about? Firmware? GT patch?

Can someone confirm that this is possible?
Moving between PS3's and always have the chrome lines

Please, could someone confirm I can log in (my own) multiple PS3's and get the chrome line cars as long as I use the same user id.
 
You can login by the same User from another PS3. Go to PSN store and download all DLC (including Chrome/Stealth). After that you can log out from this user and login to another user on that PS3. All stealth/chrome cars (and DLC) will be added to you garage.
You have to keep that account, but you don't need to login it anymore.
So, you can remove password from donor account, so nobody from that PS3 would be able to login to it, but all DLC will continue to work.

On how many PS3 you can do this - i have no idea. May be 4, or may be 2. Or unlimited.. No idea..
