GTPlanet, this was hailed as a crazy season of college football. A season that began with Appalachian State stunning #5 Michigan at the Big House to LSU pounding Ohio State. This is your chance to offer your comments about this past season of college football.

John's Winners and Losers

BIGGEST WINS OF THE SEASON
* LSU - BCS National Champions
* Appalachian State - FCS Champions (beat Michigan and had few problems retaining their successive championships)
* Valdosta State - Division 2 champions
* Wisconsin-Whitewater - Division 3 champions

* Tim Tebow on winning the Heisman (first Sophomore to win Heisman)
* University of Kentucky (Andre' Woodson, Rich Brooks, beating Louisville, beating #1 LSU, beating unbeaten until they hosted Florida, and back-to-back Bowl Wins... Kentucky's not sorry anymore)
* Michigan's great comeback through the season
* Kansas
* Missouri
* North Dakota State
* McNeese State
* Chadron State and their awesome record
* Nebraska-Omaha methodical take down of teams in Division 2
* Illinois' great season
* Art Briles for keeping Houston in Bowl Games
* Connecticut's return to Bowl Game action
* Trinity University (of San Antonio, Texas) for winning the Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Year, "upsetting" Appalachian State's FG block of Michigan
* Hawaii's amazing season

MOST DISAPPOINTING LOSSES OF THE SEASON
* no more Orange Bowl
* Lloyd Carr's resignation
* Notre Dame's pathetic season
* Ohio State in the postseason (okay to tag "Can't Win the Big One" on National Championship games?)
* UCLA's sad season
* California's discombobulation - from contenders to pretenders
* no more MAAC football (St. Peter's and La Salle end football at their schools with the declination of Metro-Athletic Atlantic Conference football)
* Duke
* #2 California basically upseting themselves
* Minnesota losing to North Dakota State
* Iowa being lethargic all season in the Big Ten
* Colorado State
* (I love this team, but...) Washington - you know something's wrong when Washington State is the better team in the state of Washington.
* Nebraska
* everyone who died or got killed and are affiliated with college football
* Ohio State... can't win the big one nowadays.

UPSETS OF THE SEASON
* Grand Valley State (D2) and Mount Union College (D3) both lose in postseason (I think GVSU's upset is bigger because it left the D2 playoffs wide open with an upset loss. Mount Union lost in the title game)
* Appalachian State stuns Michigan and the Nation
* Kentucky knocks off Louisville AND #1 and (then) unbeaten LSU

OWNAGES OF THE SEASON
* Michigan's First Win is a 38-0 Cremation of Notre Dame
* Western Kentucky knocks off 89-3
* Southeastern Louisiana knocks off
* all #2 seeds that lost in FBS

People, I am VERY late with my Season-in-Review. I'm working on a new thread to discuss off-season moves. For next season, I'll try to start my college football action with Division 2 since Division 2 starts up before most other NCAA divisions. Take a look back on the season that was... albeit almost a month since the Ohio State/LSU game.
