It's time to hit off another week of college football. If you know your holidays, you know that October 31st is Halloween. It leaves us to wonder who all will be treated and who will be tricked. Any number of games can help a team's profile or damage a team's profile. Especially games on Halloween are about trying as hard as possible not to get tricked.

This is a week where the 1st and 2nd teams in the BCS narrowly survive in outstanding clashes. This is a week where Boise State and TCU still remain unbeaten. This is a week where the Heisman race becomes even more wide-open. This is a week where teams are bound to get tricked... even if it isn't Halloween. The new week is here!

The Patriots made sure Tampa Bay's Buccaneers didn't get their first win of the season. Maybe the Bucs' battle ship sank on their expedition to the United Kingdom. (35-7; New England Patriots)

Houston, Texas - Texans Try to Get a Win Streak Going When San Francisco Comes to Town
* San Francisco 49ers at Houston Texans
Both teams have three wins on the season. The Texans dominated the first half 21-0, but made sure the 49ers didn't leave Houston with a win. (24-21; HOUSTON TEXANS)

The NBA tipped off the new season tonight. But you know you were secretly watching East Carolina at Memphis rather than see the halftime shows. You probably know who won if you saw this game. But since I was watching the NBA, I missed out. So sometimes, I have to ask to myself who won football games. Time to see who won!

With the NBA season starting up, only a certain few have cared about this match. Even I didn't get to see this match. No worries. The Pirates are a great team, but will they be great when they take on the Memphis Tigers? The Pirates left Memphis with a lopsided win. (38-19; East Carolina)

Really bad weather is anticipated here in Houston for Thursday and most of Friday morning, so I am not sure if I'll get the Thursday scores out to all of you. If I don't, feel free to check into this thread and post the results.
 
It doesn't have to be Halloween for teams to get tricked. Can you believe this is the ONLY Thursday game? It's usually at least two other divisions of NCAA football playing. Not this Thursday, though. The only game in town is in the state of Virginia.

Blacksburg, Virginia - VT is Ready to Drive Beamer Ball up North Carolinas' Backsides
* North Carolina {Tar Heels} at #14 Virginia Tech {Hokies}
Blacksburg, Virginia is a nice place to visit... as long as you're not part of an opposing football team. Get ready for some intense football action as North Carolina is thinking upset. The Tar Heels could beat the daylights out of Virginia Tech in baskeball (men's or women's). But this isn't basketball. The Hokies are ready to turn UNC's football team into a mess of white and Carolina Blue. Apparently, North Carolina can beat Virginia Tech in football, too. Even if you think the ACC is overrated garbage, at least you can respect an upset like this. (20-17; North Carolina)

Tampa Bay, Florida - Mountaineers Go From Mountain High to... Valley Low?
* #20 West Virginia {Mountaineers} at South Florida {Bulls}
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers occupy the stadium where the University of South Florida plays at. But unlike the Bucs the Bulls of South Florida are winners. They hope to be winners at the end of this night. The Mountaineers hope not to be haunted by the upset ghosts. West Virginia was spooked right out of their #20 boots. (30-19; SOUTH FLORIDA)

Hi, everyone! Here are a few highlights...

* Houston survives SMU 50-43 on a late TD by HOU.
* Auburn overrates #24 Mississippi at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
* Iowa comes from behind... again, to beat Indiana.
* Ohio State blanks New Mexico State 45-0.
* Connecticut returns home, only to lose to Rutgers.
* #8 Cincinnati crushes the Syracuse Orange 28(?)-7.

Happy Halloween, everyone! I dressed up for Halloween as... myself. Now that it is Halloween, it's time to see who all got treated, and who all got tricked. So let's take a nationwide college football tour. And don't worry. All the stadiums will treat us with great college football. I didn't announce a GAME OF THE WEEK, so I'll name one in my first report.

Eugene, Oregon - BCS Hopes on the Line For Both Teams
* #5 USCal {Trojans} at #10 Oregon {Ducks}
"You are looking live at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon," as Brent Musburger would say. The Pacific Northwest hasn't been very friendly to USCal. The Trojans look to leave Oregon with a win. The Ducks may be the biggest fashionistas in college football, but they prefer to be stylish beating other teams' behinds. USCal's BCS chances are pretty much over as the Ducks further compounded the Trojans' complications. USCal just did NOT show up at all, and were tricked seriously. They got NO treats from the green and yellow.

Jacksonville, Florida - The World's Larget Outdoor Cocktail... I mean... Bulldog/Gator Throwdown!
* Georgia {Bulldogs} vs. #1 Florida {Gators}
"Red River Rivalry" instead of the "Red River Shootout." People want the Florida/Georgia game to stop being called the "World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party." Florida and Georgia still don't like each other regardless of what their rivalry is called. Georgia once beat Florida 24-3 back in 1985 when Florida was #1. Now with this game, the Georgia Bulldogs look to take a bite out of Florida. Georgia is 1-2 all-time against #1-ranked teams. The Gators are looking to remain #1. Can they do it in this neutral-field rivalry? This wasn't even close as the Gators treated Georgia to an all-you-can-BEAT ass-whooping. (41-17; #1 Florida)

Houston, Texas - Cougars STILL Wish for a Mulligan Against UTEP, but Have to Move On With Southern Miss
* Southern Mississippi {Golden Eagles} at Houston {Cougars}
USM's favorite alum will play this weekend at his former team. Of course, I'm talking about Brett Favre. The Golden Eagles are looking for a golden upset. Problem is... they are playing at the University of Houston. The Cougars are playing as great as when they had Kevin Kolb under center. A late touchdown saved Houston from getting their second loss of the season[/I]. (50-43; #15 HOUSTON)


Speaking of UTEP...

El Paso, Texas - Blazers Look to Burn Up UTEP in the Sun Bowl
* UAB {Blazers} at UTEP {Miners}
Houston just didn't show up when they went to UTEP. Good teams go to die at UTEP, so can the Miners do something about the UAB Blazers? They almost did, but almost isn't good enough. UAB was just a bit hotter than UTEP on this day. (38-33; Alabama-Birmingham)


Lubbock, Texas - Rock Chalk Jayhawk Visits Northern Texas
* Kansas {Jayhawks} at Texas Tech {Red Raiders}
Pirates was the theme for this game. I'm talking about the pirates who go out to sea and stuff. The Red Raiders would love nothing more than to keep a straight face in the Big XII South. The Jayhawks would want nothing more but to cover Texas Tech in Jayhawk blue. To put it mildly, the Jayhawks got their feathers ruffled. BAD[/I]. (42-21; TEXAS TECH)

Knoxville, Tennessee - Kiffin's Crew Ready to Cook a Gamecock Dinner

The Volunteers overrated the Gamecocks of #21 South Carolina. This was a great win for the Volunteers. (31-13; TENNESSEE)

Lexington, Kentucky - Bulldogs = Easy Prey for Wildcats?
* Mississippi State {Bulldogs} at Kentucky {Wildcats}
Time to go to Commonwealth Stadium to see how how the Kentucky Wildcats did against Mississippi State. The Wildcats couldn't solve the mystery of the Mississippi State Bulldogs. (31-24; Mississippi State)

Denton, Texas - Hilltoppers and Mean Green Clash North of Dallas
* Western Kentucky {Hilltoppers}
WKU's mascot is unlikely to scare anybody, but the Hilltoppers are looking to find their way into FBS and the Sun Belt. A once good team has been sorry for some time. That's the Mean Green/Eagles of the University of North Texas. Defense is overrated! This basketball-on-grass battle was won by North Texas. (68-49; NORTH TEXAS)

San Diego, California - Two Teams With Two S:censored:ty Seasons Try to Find some Solace
* New Mexico {Lobos} at San Diego State {Aztecs}
Normally, the New Mexico Lobos would beat SDSU 42-10. Well, New Mexico is basically planning for next season as the Aztecs now improve to 3-4 on the season, at UNM's expense. (23-20; SAN DIEGO STATE)

Columbus, Ohio - Buckeyes Need Target Practice
* New Mexico State {Aggies} at Ohio State
New Mexico State was dominated all day long as the Buckeyes were all over the Aggies. (45-0; #17 OHIO STATE)

Champaign, Illinois - Buckeyes Can Be Bowl Eligible with a Win in Champaign
* Michigan {Wolverines} at Illinois {Fighting Illini}
The Fighting Illini were the truth in this match as the Michigan Wolverines were thoroughly disgraced. (38-13; ILLINOIS)

Oxford, Ohio - Miami [University] Seeks Their First Win...
* Toledo {Rockets} at Miami University {Redhawks}
The Redhawks of Miami University got their first win of the season by taking down the mediocre Toledo Rockets (31-24; MIAMI UNIVERSITY)

Winston-Salem, North Carolina - ...While the Other Miami Looks to Rediscover their Former Glory
* #18 Miami {Hurricanes} at Wake Forest {Demon Deacons}
The Miami Hurricanes had to rely on all of their survival tactics to avoid losing for the second successive time. The Demon Deacons didn't have enough to upset Miami. (28-27; #18 Miami)

Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Tulane's Woes Won't be Treated at Baton Rouge

This is the only Halloween-themed report I'll come up with here. The Green Wave got spooked by the ghosts of LSU... only that the Tigers weren't ghosts. (42-0; #9 LOUISIANA STATE)

Stillwater, Oklahoma - Cowboys and Longhorns Tangle Southern Style
* #3 Texas {Longhorns} at #13 Oklahoma State {Cowboys}
The Oklahoma State Cowboys are usually a dangerous team to Texas. This time around, the Texas Longhorns were MUCH more dominant on this night (41-14; #3 Texas).

Minneapolis, Minnesota - Golden Gophers Look to Laugh All the Way to the Bank at TCF Bank Stadium

Finally, so I don't forget... let's take a trip to Minnesota. The Golden Gophers were certainly golden in tearing apart Michigan State. (42-34; MINNESOTA)

Wow,what a week of college football.I think I'll call this one "Moving Week",a lot of teams got moved this week,both up and down.

Big 10 News :

The 4th ranked Iowa Hawkeyes hosted the Indiana Hoosiers in Iowa City yesterday.While the score indicated blowout,it really wasn't.The Hawkeyes went into the 4th quarter trailing by 14 points trying to recover from an early hole that they dug themselves into and riding on a less than stellar performane from QB Ricky Stanzi,who was picked off 5 times yesterday.My how things can change,the Hawkeyes came out in the 4th and racked up 28 points to overcome their biggest deficit of the yearThis performane could knock Iowa down a notch or two in the BCS,We'll see about this one.They do however reamain un-beaten 9-0 and 5-0 in the Big 10.Hawkeyes still eyeing a Big 10 title and hoping for a bid to go to the big dance. Columbus Ohio,major leage blowout. The Buckeyes remain poised to grab a shot at the Big 10 title (still may need some help along the way).O.S.U. dismantled New Mexico State 45 - 0. O.S.U.'s 3rd shutout this season. Good "D" Bucks

Madison Wisconsin saw it's home team Badgers hand out a butt whipping on the Purdue Boilermakers. Wisconsin 37 - Purdue 0.Wisconsin,sitting back and watching,licking their chops,ready to pounce,they still have a shot at the Big 10 title.They too may need some help along the way,but they are lurking in the shadows.

Champaign Illinois,the Wolverines of Michigan coming into town,possibly thinking "money in the bank game".Michigan - denied,the Fighting Illini,lived up to their name "fighting",they fought the entire day and took it to the Wolverines. Final score Michigan 13 - Illinois 38

Evanston Illinois saw it's Northwestern Wildcats take on the Penn State Nittany Lions.PSU struggled early on but got their act together and came out of Illinois victorious.Penn State 34 - Northwestern 13

In Minneapolis yesterday,Minnesota QB Adam Weber threw for 416 yards and 5 touchdowns in a close high scoring one against the Michigan State Spartans.Final score Minnesota Golden Gophers 42 - Michigan State 34


On an out of conference note. Great job by the Oregon Ducks as they put it to the USC Trojans and are now wearing the the crown of the PAC 10. Can Oregon hold on to it though ?
