College Football: What Improvements Can Be Made?

This is my debut to the Off-Topic/Sports category, much less this topic in question.

To make this topic simple, you know I may have talked a lot of college football in some of my threads and replies. Some people like to talk about NCAA Football should have a playoff like in NCAA Basketball. I'm not really a college hoops fan, even though I did see a good game between the Kansas Jayhawks and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

So, considering that some of us have seen American college football, what can be done to enhance college football? So far, the first change is a 5th Bowl Game. But could there be more for NCAA Football to compete with college basketball, and even the NFL? Reply.

Oh, and another option. If you think nothing is wrong with college football, that's okay. Just talk about why you think so. Next season is going to be my third year into football, much less college.
 
I like the way NCAA football is right now. I don't think there should be any changes made.

I also don't like the idea of the instant replay in the Big 10.

What position and team do you play? Do you plan of playing football after college? If so at what level?

Ok my only thing that I find a bit strange about College Football is that there are soo many bowl games. Like seriously it seems like every team gets into a bowl game. Who wants to win Continental Tire Bowl. I think the only reason that there are so many bowls is because sponcers want to make mass profit off them. Which brings up another good point. I heard on a sports channel a while back that the NCAA makes something like 400 million off college football. Wheter that accurate or not we can all agree that they sure make a pretty penny. So where is that money going. The NCAA makes that money off that players who intern get absolutly nothing for it in terms of financial benifit. Im not really convinced that college players should get paid....but I'd really like to know where all that money is going. As far as on field play.....it seems pretty exciting, and not too sure what i'd change there.

And I mean, I think that college players should get scholarships at the most. I mean, you don't want to give college students multimillion dollar contracts and pay cuts. I think colleges play for pride, whether it is the Delaware Blue Hens beating Colgate in I-AA Football or LSU beating Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl. Shows like PTI (Pardon the Interruption) on ESPN say that if college football had a tournament like in college basketball to determine who plays for the national title, it would be much better and might challenge the NFL. Some people don't like the idea of a playoffs because they don't want a mini NFL. Personally, I love college football. I never been a basketball fan (except for when the University of Houston Lady Cougars lost to UCSB, resulting in me caring very little about women's college hoops). To me, basketball and football are very different. And if you run a playoff system, after the secondary Bowl games, the time to determine a national champion will interfere with the Super Bowl. So you have a BCS Title on the line, you need to set things up in a way that the Super Bowl will not be interrupted briefly by college football.

So all the "I want a playoff" people? Think about it. The Super Bowl would come up, the Spring term comes up in most colleges pretty soon during the BCS Bowls. So I say NO to a playoff. Got a problem with it? Just stay with college hoops and have D. Vitale light up the screen with his "it's awesome, baby!" commentary.
