One big problem with wreckers besides the fact that you can drive the opposite way, is the fact that you can crash into another car from behind at over 200mph and get away with it. You don´t get punished either with black flag or by loosing the control of the car. Instead it often helps you to make the turn.
The collosions just makes me laugh, it´s like the worst arcade game ever. And the sound when you hit another car..... like hitting a empty barrel.
I really hope the make a patch so we can enjoy some nice and clean racing,

What´s your opinion on the crash and collision system when you race online?
 
I have had mostly clean races.

In the future you will have a network of friends who race clean and the wreakers will tire of GT5 quickly.

There are different settings for penalties, you can turn them completely off, medium, or strict. You can get punished for hitting people/cutting corners. Your car can even turn into a ghost if you go into a turn too fast trying to ram people. You could also make friends on this site for clean racing, or put up a public lobby named "Clean racing" or something similar. I agree the sound of impact when hitting other cars is strange.
 
I do agree that the sound of collisions and how GT5 handle them in general is ridiculous, but as Organ-Donor said you can set penalties for online races. Not like having a good collision system, but should at least give the chance for a more fair play
