I wanted to create a replica of the C5-R with the Z06 and the ZR1, but I can't identify the hue of yellow on the C5-R. Can anyone help me out?

From what I can tell, the C5-R was Millennium Yellow - available on both the Corvette Z06 (C5) '00 and '04.

Out of curiosity, why not just scour the UCD or trade for a legit C5-R?

I'm not really looking for a C5-R to drive. What I'm doing is trying to put its paint job on a more current 'Vette.

I've taken a look at mine, and I would say that the color is "Velocity Yellow Tintcoat".

I tried taking mine into the paint shop, so I could compare the colors side by side, but the game says that the C5R cannot be painted!

What he means is get the C5-R and use its paint chip to colour the 'Vette of your dreams.

Dump the C5-R in a river afterwards if you like... :D

You are correct sir! The yellow used on the C5-R is indeed Millenium Yellow, which was introduced on the C5 in 2000.

The Velocity Yellow Tintcoat did not come out until the C6 Corvette & is not the same shade of yellow.

You don't get a paint chip with the C5-R. You'll have to buy the '04 ZO6 to get the right color.

slingshot yellow is so close you cant tell unless they are side by side inches apart. its the SSR color that you can find in the UCD.

I have a MY vette, and have used the slingshot yellow for engine parts because its not the tintcoat like the MY is and thus not so hard to get the tint right.

You guys are correct that Chevrolet used "Millennium Yellow" in real life for the C5 Corvette.👍

However, to my eyes, when I compare the paint chips in the game, the paint chip for "Velocity Yellow Tintcoat" seems a closer match to the yellow on the game's C5R (a slightly more "golden" color).

I suspect that my eyes must be deceived by the contrast of the yellow against the white that's on the other half of the C5R car.

It would make the most sense if the color was "Millennium Yellow" since the C5R Corvette is a 2000 model.

I have a C5 that is painted "Millennium Yellow" and a C6 that is painted "Velocity Yellow Tintcoat", so tonite, if I have time, I will take them both into the 2player arcade mode and run each side-by-side with the C5R (if this is possible) and see if I can confirm the color to my satisfaction.

this is VY and MY side by side....for game purposes its probably silly.

this wheel company sent me a set of wheels tht were painted VY vs MY.

Does the Z06 in the UCD come in Millenium Yellow?

HRE did me the same way on my 1998 Corvette Indy Pace Car. I wanted the same yellow as the factory wheels, & even gave them the paint code. They originally painted them Competition Yellow from the C4 before making things right.

Speedway white is the most rare color the Z06 came in, i jumped on that one.

I should have jumped on it, now I regret it. I just want that Millennium Yellow Paint Chip (if its in the game).

I thought I picked one up, but after checking, I see that I didn't. Shoot. I'd bet that's the only way to get that paint chip, I'm pretty sure that color is not offered on the '04.

Go buy the '04 ZO6 from the new car Chevrolet dealer (premium), you can buy it in that color (you get the paint chip). It also has 25 more HP & 43 lbft of torque (according to the game) than the '00 ZO6 from the UCD (which of course should be labled as a 2001).

technically, there is no such thing as a 2000 Z06....it was a fixed roof coupe in 2000 with the LS1 vs the 385hp ls6 that came in 01, and 405 in 02-04.
