Combat/Flight Sims

I've been looking to get into the online flight combat simulator scene and am naturally looking for where the most players are/the best sim.

Atm I am looking at at the games made by Eagle Dynamics (Digital Combat Simulator/Lock On etc)

I've done quite some looking around but the best are sometimes hard to find, does anyone know of any better sims or am I at the top here?

Short of that, is there anyone here affiliated with or works for Activision that can put me in touch with them.
 
IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 if you're looking for a historical one. It's incredibly realistic and in turn, difficult. Plenty of planes with lots of details, great sounds and amazing 3D cockpits. Don't miss out on this one.

If you're looking for modern ones then yeah, go with the lock-on franchise. Might want to look into DCS Black Shark if you're into helis.
 
Yeh IL2 1946 is great even though its quite old. Or the new one IL2 clifs of dover.
Modern I dont have a clue as I dont play them.
 
I haven't played a flight combat sim for years, I really enjoyed MS flight combat sim 1 & 2 but not 3. I did play lock-on for a while years ago but my system wasn't really upto par back then and never went back to it.

Thankzzz..... great find, I couldn't figure out if you can induce a second player to run the fireing end of the copter. I was looking for something like the Apachie or Comanchie but your choice looks great, I just wish the Russians would learn to spell, their letters all look backwards...... lol
 
Yes, Modern, I should have said.

I was looking at black shark and the others made by eagle and it go a bit confusing, they seemed to say you can use planes from lock on 2 in Black Shark, and then they showed black shark and made it out to be just a helicopter gunship sim, making no further mention of planes at all.

Lock On: Falling Cliffs 2 appears to be the top dog.
