Combo Championship Series 2011
With the LEGEND series coming to an end on Sunday 31/07/11, it is time for the next online racing league. Welcome to the COMBO CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES.
THE CHAMPIONSHIP
The aim of this championship is to have clean and fun racing with GTP friends on a weekly basis. The series is open to all GTP members as long as you are a clean and fair racer and follow our rules, which can be found in this thread:

Race meetings will be on Sundays 8pm GMT starting on Sunday 07/08/2011. The series will hopefully continue for 8 weeks.

This series will test your skills in all diciplines of SU2. You will have to show your abilities in racing tactics, track knowledge, tuning capabilities, endurance stamina and above all being FAST. We will compete for three individual titles, a team trophy and the ultimate prize...the overall winner, to be crowned the UNLEASHED CHAMPION 2011.
As the name implies, this series will comprise a combination of racing in three different classes each race meeting :
* a Class D race
* a FIA GT3 race
* an Open Event
At the end of the series, there will be a Class D winner, a FIA GT3 winner, and an Open champion. The UNLEASHED CHAMPION will be the racer with the highest average score of Class D, GT3 and the Open Events combined.
Class D Races
--- No restriction on cars. You can choose your own favourite as long as the PI does not exceed 499
--- Tuning allowed
--- Upgrades: user defined
--- The use of nitrous allowed
--- Racing will be on the shorter tracks which will include some City circuits
--- More or less 5 laps per race depending on the track
FIA GT3 Races
--- To level the racing field, we will all use the same car for each race
--- We will use a different car and track each Sunday
--- Tuning allowed
--- Racing will be on the longer tracks
--- Probably 10 laps per race
This is where the Team Racing comes into play. Fighting for the GT3 TEAM TROPHY. Each racer will have to pick a teammate for this series of races. We will still be racing for individual points, but additionally earning points as a two man team. I am leaving the choice of a teammate up to you guys. My suggestion is to pick someone in the same timezone as it will make practice easier and more convenient.
The Open Event
This event is going to be the real challenge. There is no specific outline what to expect each Sunday. It can be anything from a Class B race at Zolder,a Retro race at Dijon, a V8 at Laguna, Endurance with a GT1 at Monza to a time trial with a Works at Hockenheim. Who knows ?? Be prepared for anything the race organisers can throw at you
HOUSERULES
General housekeeping
1) Please inform me if you cannot participate. It saves everyone from waiting needlessly.
2) Chatroom: will open at 7.45pm. All racers HAVE to join the chatroom as invites for the race will be send from there. Try to be on time please.
3) Results : every racer has to record his position and time for every race (write it down on a piece of paper). I will try to record it, but may have to ask you to verify your position and time before posting the results.
4) Disconnect : if anyone is disconnected within the 1st lap of a race, the race will be stopped and restarted.
5) Complaints : hopefully this will be a non-issue, but if you have please do not use this thread to publicly criticise your fellow racers. Send me or one of the race stewards a PM and we will deal with it.
6) Penalties : may vary from a loss of points, disqualification or in case of a real bad attitude, exclusion from the championship.
7) Practice : pre- event practices can be held by anyone at any time and posted in this thread
8) Please add all the racers to your friends list. You may have to help sending invites when time runs out.
9) I am always open to ideas in how to improve this series. Please let me know at anytime if you have any suggestions. Critism is welcome as long as it is fair and positive
10) Mic's : if you have one, by all means use it
Racing rules
1) Clean, fair racing and follow the ORL.
2) Drive respectfully, excercise caution and try as best as you can to avoid contact.
3) If you knock someone of course accidentally, be courteous by stopping or slowing down and allow that racer to regain his position.
3) Don not judge other racers as dirty who accidently hit you, cut a corner or go off track. Remember we all make mistakes.
4) Do not impose selfmade penalties in the heat of the moment, such as blocking or slowing down. That is counter productive to the whole spirit of this series and spoils close and fun racing.
5) Remember that the race is not won at the first corner!!
Points will be awarded for each race (so win all 3 and you leave with 75 points - but that aint gonna happen ):
