Back a few years ago, I used to collect comic books. I've had them stacked at teh parents house for many years.

In the recent hurdle to get them all cataloged, I found this one. Rembering it as one of my favorites.

Anybody else out there collect these?

Nope. Never got in to DC and Marvel, other than spiderman i suppose.

I'm a big 2000AD fan and have a large number of back issues (including the infamous burger war / cursed earth, Judge Dredd story) as well as quite a few graphic novels of 2000AD strips all stacked up in the loft.

Judge Dredd was way cool. Too bad they tagged Stallone to play him in that lousy movie.

I have some DC/Marvel comics of early-90s vintage, but the only DC title I really collected was Sandman. The rest of my 600 or so books are from independents like First and Dark Horse. I was also a Love and Rockets fan (both the band and the comic). My largest run is about 150 issues of Cerebus by Dave Sim. I'm dying to find out if he ever completed the 300 issues, and it is going to cost me a bundle in back issue dollars to catch up.

I would also read anything by Alan Moore and/or Neil Gaiman, including their grocery lists.

I saw the appearance of Bird2rock earlier today, and realized I hadn't seen you around in a while. Glad you're back.

As for Dredd, I'll vote that indeed it was a lousy movie. I've got a few Dredd Rules and a few Judge Dredd issues floating around, but I was stuck in the ever expanding world of Marvel, with a few offshots into DC and Dark horse.

Last I heard Dave Sim was still hard at work and nearing his planned 300th issue mark in the next few years. Hold onto those, Duke, and you'll pay off one of hte girsl college tuition with it. Last I knew, the Mint condition 1st issue was up over $500.

Cheers matey.

Yeah me and Bird are back :) , funny i didn't realise she had been online until i phoned her earlier.... I'd heard the teeth story before... ughhhhhh.

Yeah,... I did bout 10 years ago. I still have a stack of about 100. Mostly spidey,... I was in it when the introduced that hollogram series. I also still hold 2 black, un-opened "Death of Superman" issues. I'm sure those will be a worth a buck or two in 50 years.

Comics were great for a while, same as baseball cards, and other similar hobbies. I guess I just grew out of the whole memorabilia thing, but very happy I held onto most of it.................. now where did I put those old star wars figures?..... Damn it,... sold em' for $$$ to buy whacky tobacky when I was 16 :irked: ..... oh well,... I still got the comics  :D :D

My brother use to buy them all the time. Mostly Fantastic 4. He use to have some really old ones.He wanted to go to a concert once and sold all of them for pennies on the dollar so he could buy the ticket. I could have killed him for that. I would have bought his ticket for his collection if I would have known. He had a few first edition F4s where they introduced a new character that later became a regular.
