Hi my name is Mike and I am an adict to GT3,

Well it has been a week and a half with out GT3 and I am about to lose it. "Why so long with out GT3?" you ask, well I took my PS2 over to a friends place where he has a god like sound system set up along with numoruse other toys. We had just rented Silent Hill 2 in the hopes of a good scare and before we got to far into the game we decided to go grab a late night snack. We paused the game and off to the local Taco Bell/ Pizza hut we went.
When we came back it was dark in my buddies loft and while walking around my friend Nick trips over the controller cord that I was standing on an my PS 2 goes flying through the air smaking the ground hard.
To make a long story short the CD tray is jamed in and I think my lens is out of wak. The Sony Service Center said it will cost $119 (warrenty had expiered two months ago) and will take 15 to 20 days to fix. Plus Blockbuster is already charging me late fees. So as we speak my PS2 is on a plane to Michagan for repair and my Gran Tourismo 3 CD is collecting dust. And if you get anything out of this poeple get this: always put your playstation at the lowest point in the room and trun on the lights.

Thank you for sharing, Roadman3, we feel your pain, and your loss.

Roadman3, your story reminds me of a time I dropped a hard drive onto a concrete floor. Unsurprisingly it wasn't particularly interested in being a hard drive any more. And since backups are for housewives and little girls (:D ) that was the end of the data too.

I know exactly how you felt. I will have a race in your honour tonight my friend.

first of all...

Welcome to GTPlanet... if you love GT3, you will love this site...

Now, on to my related story!!

Just recently i was playing GT3 and my dog came walking in the room, trip on the cord... PS2 flying though the air, me looking like  and boom...

amazingly... nothing happened....

sooo like an idiot, i put it back up there... not 2 weeks later my nephew walks in does the exact same thing.... the whole  face, and then came  at my nephew...

amazingly... my PS2 works fine, but now makes a noise.... Its on the ground when i play now... :D

Thank you for your support. Now if you will excuse me I am going to go sit in front of my TV, hold my controller and cry.

Hey Roadman3, that is what happened to mine but guess which game I happened to be playing at the time- GT3. The cd tray jammed but I managed to get it open, the only problem is my GT3 disk was so scratched that it wouldn't work. The good news is I took it to a place that fixes scratched CDs and it is as good as new.

I hope you get your PS2 back soon so you can play GT3 again!!

Man that hurts! Reminds me of a time playing on my old Sega MegaDrive (Genesis to all you Americans) and I got particulalry peeved at one of the Sonic the Hedgehog games, and hit the joypad where it plugged into the console itself. I hit it so hard though, that the connection smashed out, leaving the surround that plugged in jammed in the console, the top of the console cracked a little bit (okay, a lot, I'm a big guy...) and a controller with lots of wires but no way of plugging them in

Boy was I  at myself!
