I'm looking for an english speaking (1st language) commentator aged 19+ (Male or Female) to commentate on some league highlights videos. Commentator must have a mic to record with and must be enthusiastic and able to add to the excitement of the races.

Can't offer any pay, but you'd probably become popular in the South African gt5 community :D
Highlight vids would be between 5-10 mins

Would be handy if you have any recordings of your voice to show.

PM me if you're interested or want me details

You should get the "would you look at that" guy from YouTube to do it :D

As McClarenDesign said, check our stuff out, I think we'd be a decent bet.

Especially when one of us uses corner names...

J/k Mitch.

Haha, great stuff guys:D

I did check your stuff out yesterday, and I'm very keen. You guys have a great podcast going. Will probably PM you guys a bit later today

we had this guy named james or something sit in and watch a few of our 650pp races on the nurb. all he did for the first 2 races was type things out like wow that guys fast. but then the room filled up, all clean and able to mostly keep up drivers. this guys just comes out of nowhere and starts the best comentating session i ever heard. he even "brought in other commentators and talked to team managers" during the race using other voices. he made it so much fun haha. the best part was when he was like ok "susan what do you think about that battle going on up front?" and pulls out the girl voice, bunch of us started getting a little loose on the cornes we were laughing so hard.

the most fun and best racing i ever had in GT5.
we had 6 cars bumper to bumper until the carousel running sub 6 minute laps.
talk about a race man.

I once had someone sum up Initial D in the middle of a race, while fighting off two attackers. He had me in stitches days latter still. He'd do Bunta's voice, then Takumi's.

Bunta: Takumi, tonight I want you to take my car so you can understand how much better it is, and how much better than you I am.
Takumi: F (only uncensored) you dad, I'm taking my eighty six (not 8-6)!

That is brilliant:D

Still looking for a commentator btw. If anyone is interested, or knows someone who is interested, get hold of me ;)

3rd time lucky?:dopey:

Crafty thread bump

Its always best to have two commentators, that way they can play off eachother and create the energy...

So maybe put out a request for a commentary duo

I will call the race as long as I can say "aannnd boom goes the dynamite".

I think it would be best if we'd focus on releasing content in a timely manner. Adding more to our plate, when we cant even meet our own self-imposed deadlines, is just asking for trouble.

I recommend Tom Brooks.

No worries, Brad. I think it's probably best if you guys focus on the Podcast for now. Seems like you have alot on your plate with that. If you guys are still keen for this in the future, then you know where I am:)
Will be looking out for your podcasts in the meantime.

@VBR Great Find!:D Will approach him.

There's a GTP admin with an open inbox...

Not sure what you mean??

If anyone is interested in this. I made a test video for this a while ago (comes with notepad file with an explanation of what is happening). It's unfinished, but it's waiting for commentary to be added. If anyone wants to give it a shot then you can download it here:

My downloaded vid seemed jittery. Was it like that for you Red? Mitch?

We have enough people for the podcast, the difficulty lies in getting them to work together without having to hold hands. If Mitch AND I could get the week off the podcast that WE SHOULD, special projects like this wouldn't be a problem at all.

Well...

It means I can do commentary if you wish to have a GTP admin commentating on your video  You can hear me speaking on the GamesCom breakout video on the GTP main page in November 2010 - so you can see if my (largely neutral, but a bit Yorkshire) English accent suits what you're after.

We'd like you as a guest on the podcast at some point, Famine. Likely after the US Academy series finishes.

Yeah the first 30 seconds are very shaky. It runs smoothly after that, but it's an unfinished version at the moment.:)
Sounds good, I hope you guys manage to get the 'machine' running smoothly then.

Bang on the money:tup: Would be a privilege if you could, Famine. Really sounds great. :)

At the moment I'm wondering if 2 sets of commentators could work? Alternating between the 2 to make it easier for those involved?:boggled:

Any thoughts?
