Hi Forum

I have attached a picture I have adjusted using photoshop elements, sorry if it is a bit small but I did not wanted to make it too big and be troublesome for modem users.

I was asking feedback and comments are welcome and how to improve the picture...if you are wondering it is one of the Like The Wind races that I have done.

Just asking what is good and what is wrong with it. If it is wrong, what settings should I use next time to make the picture better as well if any improvements needed in photoshop, say what improvements and adjustments are needed.

Thanks

Good- Lighting and contrast is fine in the picture, could prove to be an interesting angle with more PS'n.

Bad- Frankly, it's boring. You have the appropriate cars, except the suzuki, there but nothings happening, no blur, no sense of speed.

I would look at the tutorials and learn how to do blurs and that will add a whole new level to your shots.👍

I would suggest to focus on one or two particular cars in the picture, otherwise the photo like now is kinda like a snapshot rather than having artistic values in it. Let say you want CLK vs Suzuki, try to frame them as the major subject matters in the photo. Since it is from "like the wind", you may also want to use long exposure setting that viewers can feel the speed. However for such angle using long exposure will kill your shot, so you may wanna try to learn adding motion blur in photoshop.

I agree, they look boring. No motion blur, no sense of speed and above all, I dont think a suzuki GSX/R can beat a CLK GT-R Race car unless you were lapped when you took the shot

Thanks for the replies guys...it was actually on the final lap with a Suzuki GSX-R/4 Concept Car modded up to 275bhp with all the best parts...I was able to put a challenge on and manage to win by 0.00.005 of a second (I think I took the picture of the finish just showing how close the race was)....which I will probably write a race report on. Anyway it is my first shot with this so I am not a seasoned pro but I am glad for the comments.

Oh gorden gt...A fully modded and tuned Suzuki GSX/R-4 can beat Le Mans cars in like the wind as long as you stay in the slipstream and use a bit of nos right at the end to overtake the cars.

Anyway thanks for the feedback guys....and any thing that I can do if you can describe or link, just let me know. Also I feel it is ok for a first time but it can be improved by a lot...I probably got some better pictures somewhere.

Try using www.imageshack.us to post your pics - that way you can post thumbnails of the full sized image without having to worry about 56K users. It's also a good way to present a full set of pics without creating a massive post.

I personally prefer slightly smaller pcis than the standard image size anyway, since I feel that it sharpens up the detail a bit... I typically will work on the image in full size and then crop/resize so that the largest dimension doesn't exceed 800 pixels... that way, you can safely post a full size picture that people will be able to see in their web browsers without having to scroll...

You can also use PS to add a border - I usually take my final pic and copy it, and then create a new image, and manually add 40 pixels to each dimension and then paste my image in the centre, thus creating a 20 pixel wide white border. (I sometimes also at a 1 pixel black border outside that using the 'Stroke' option in Photoshop (which you can also use for the bigger border... but bear in mind that doing this will occlude part of your image, hence why I do it the way I do...)

Anyway, look forward to seeing more of your stuff - have fun mucking about in Photoshop! 👍
