Community / Clubs / Events - with Daylight Savings Time

I've been using the Community Club Event system to make the schedule of racing for our club.

I put in the time as MY time, and I assume that everyone else sees the time in THEIR time.

Thing is, I'm unsure whether it's taking Daylight Savings Time into account at all. :scared:

Obviously this is a big problem... if it doesn't.

Honestly it would be easier if it was all done in UTC time.

Does anyone know if it adjusts or not?

Or do I need to scrap using the times in there altogether because it will be messed up until DST is over??

Jinkies I hate time zones. :ouch:

This is something I've been wondering myself. I guess the only way to find out is to run a test with people from different time zones & ask them what they see.

I can't confirm 100%, but from my experience it would adjust to suit everyone's time zone.
I race in a club held by a UK owner.
No doubt he simply enters the event start time according to his clock, but it adjusts that time on my Community Club screen to match my local time. (obviously Aus. time)
If I had to guess, I think it would work off the time setting of the logged in PS3.

Probably the same system that adjusts closing date and time for the seasonal tiles.
The A-Spec races that will end this week say it closes 12 March at 11:00am.
No question everyone around the world sees a different date and time according to their time zone.

The same can't be said for the website Community page though.
For some reason, both the upcoming Club event times and Seasonal ending times are 2 hours later than they should be.
But in-game, all times adjusted for my time zone are correct.

Update:

I checked with someone in Germany, on CET (Central Europe Standard Time).
They are seeing my events scheduled at the correct GMT & CET standard time in comparison to my settings, which I'm using US Eastern Daylight Time.

So it looks like it's confirmed that the GT6 Community is adjusting for my being in Daylight Savings Time now.

I think what happened is that the events I created last week sometime moved FORWARD to automatically adjust for Daylight Savings Time.
But I had already taken this into account, and scheduled them for when it WOULD be, not when it was.
So it turned out wrong because the system assumed I didn't know about DST in advanced. :boggled:
So then I had to go in and change those events' scheduled times, because they were then wrong after the change from EST to EDT.

The events I scheduled on Sunday, after DST was in effect, stayed correct.

So I think that's mystery solved. 👍

Append:
I'm doing most of the time settings from the web, not the ps3.
So I don't think the ps3 time matters.
All day Sunday, my ps3 was registering EDT and had not automatically changed.
My spouse had to go in and manually change it.
I have no reason to believe this effects the Community, as that's online, and can be viewed on other devices other than the ps3

I just flew to Sydney and back to test.
(aka changed time zones on my PS3 and added Daylight Savings)
Sydney are usually 2 hours ahead, but are currently 3 due to Daylight Savings.

And yep, the Seasonals end time advanced 3 hours (14:00) as did the start and end times for the Club events. 👍

Well I just changed the time zone on my tablet to US Pacific Daylight Time.

Then I loaded the GT6 Community / Club / Event in Chrome - the web version.
(This is where I do event creations because it's a PITB on the ps3.)

The times are registering the SAME as I set them in US EDT.
It did not adjust.

So if I just flew to California... I'd think the race tomorrow is at 15:00/3pm US PDT.
In reality, it's scheduled for 3pm US EDT which is Noon PDT.

:odd: :boggled:

I see.

I've no idea mate, I've never done it on a PC before.
But it seems to me the PS3 recognises the daylight saving adjustment (provided people actually change it of course) and changes the times accordingly, so I think you should be able to rest easy.
