True Drifta is wrong, kinda. Read this, here's another article I found
GT3: First Look at the Diablo GT

It's not an official Lamborghini, but it's got the Italian supercar spirit -- new screens inside.

March 23, 2001

This is not a Lamborghini Diablo.
Look closely and you will see that, despite the striking visual resemblance, there is no Lamborghini badging, no charging bull insignia, on the body of the Diablo GT racer that will appear in Gran Turismo 3. It may look very much like the famed Italian supercar, but trust us, there's no kinship between the two. None whatsoever. Seriously.

You don't believe us, do you? Well, here's the truth. SCE came up with a rather underhanded way to fit a Diablo in its game without having to actually pony up the stiff fee that Lamborghini would require for the official license. Instead of talking to Lamborghini, they talked to the Japan Lamborghini Owners' Club (or JLOC), which runs a Diablo exactly like this one in the GT500 class of the All Japan Grand Touring Championship.

The No. 88 Nomad Diablo GT-1, driven by Naohiro Furuya and Tsuyoshi Takahashi, uses the same mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive layout as the road versions of the Diablo. Its DOHC V12 engine, with 5,994 ccs of displacement, is tuned to produce more than 600ps at 7,000 RPM, and is coupled to a six-speed Hewland sequential transmission. The suspension uses double wishbones front and rear. Stopping power is provided by six-piston calipers on the front wheels and four-piston calipers in the rear, both gripping ventilated disks.

is this the japanese version or 4 the others. I had heard of this in a while ago. The body design is also copyrighted so.....

The list is for the U.S. version and the 2nd post is about the Diablo in the U.S. version. It is a Diablo but it's not a Lamborghini, it's almost like a Diablo Replica. Understand what I'm trying to say?

Man, I hope this is true!

Man, I just saw it a hundred times, it's in the game. It's not a Lamborghini but it is a Diablo GT, I'm 99.99999999% positive the Diablo GT is in the game.

Are you definitely sure this is the final North American version?

This is great!  Now I'm looking forward to GT3 again.

yeah its pretty much true since my OPM mag says the so called Diablo will be in the game but will not be recognized as the Lamborgini Diablo.

I have the entire list printed of GT3 cars from ign.com . So far there are over 166 cars found.

Do you know what the 167th car was?  It's not the Diablo, is it?  :frown:

I just hope the Lamb...Diablo gets in there...  And the Diahatsu Midget II.

I just hope the Lamb...Diablo gets in there...  And the Diahatsu Midget II.

Jordan, it's not looking good for the Midget, or the Lamborghini Diablo GT, the Diablo GT is in the game though :D I know what you mean. I don't think the midget made the cut. There aren't that many low horsepower cars in GT3, that's why the number of cars is so low. There are around 190 cars though. I heard that number straight from a GT3 manufactuerer.

I'm sorry to day this but that list of IGN.com is taken from a Japanese ver. Even thought it says the official car list for U.S. it's wrong, because it missing U.S. only cars like the RS-X. In fact the Intro of the US version was changed because the Japanese one had a DIABLO in the intro.
SORRY!

It will have the Diablo beleive me. My OPM mag says so. The Diablo is not officially licensed from Lamborgini but actually from a Japanese Sports Car Club which has Diablos that are custum made but not from Lamborgini but some other company.

hmm lets think thats 190 cars that means you can play single player differently 190 times .... a replay value through the roof!!!!

Whats up with The Chevorlet Monte Carlo? If i had one question to ask the makers of GT3 is why that car isn't in this game. Also why Pontiac isn't in any three versions of GT.

I dont think Polyphony has a license agreement with Pontiac. As for the Monte Carlo, maybe because they dont want a NASCAR in GT3 or maybe they didnt think of putting it in the game.

Pontiac, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Some Chevrolet, Some Mercedes-Benz, McLaren, and more, are all licenced to Elec-freaking-tronic Arts. :(

Friggin stupid hoggers.
