The time trials badly need an option to turn the wind off, or at least set it exactly as wished. At the moment it's borderline useless to try and compare cars without equal conditions, and the best option to try and fix the situation is to enter and exit the session until the lottery gives wind speed and direction roughly similar to what they were when the car being compared to was run.

Was my first sector with car A half a second faster than with car B because it handles better, or was it because there was a 5 m/s headwind through a technical section while car B suffered from a 6 m/s tailwind through the same corners and consequently car A had downforce equal to travelling 40 km/h faster at the same speed?

On the other hand, is car A very fast on the back straight, or is it because it now had a 5 m/s tailwind while car B had a 6 m/s headwind, in other words having to fight against drag equal to for example 270 km/h while car A only had 230 km/h while actually travelling at the same speed?

It's fine in races, the conditions are what they are on the race day. But for testing the cars there should definitely be an option to disable it. There's the "equal conditions" option already in lobbies, so there's no reason why it couldn't be brought over to the time trials too. PD obviously knows about the unequality the wind causes as online time trials and circuit experiences have it turned off but for some reason they want those hot lapping alone to suffer the consequences.
