Hey guys, long time lurker first time poster.

Anyway, I was just coming online last night to crank a bit of Gran Turismo 5 when this little message popped up on the right hand side of my screen..

"You cannot use Playstation Network with this account."

Obviously I was a little confused, went to check my Playstation account online - and was advised I was banned or suspended. I would say it's safe to assume they finally caught onto my username.

Now I'm not overly suprised, nor annoyed that the username is banned. My issue is, well, I lost my beloved GT5 save!!

Does anyone have any ideas on how I could possibly get around this? I had hours and hours spent on this account! Absolutely gutted to find it's been made practically redundant because of my choice of PS3 names..

Cheers for any help,
Nick

The game save will still work offline on that account and you may have just got a temporary ban, check your emails you should have one telling you why you have been banned.

2 months ago i had my account stolen , had to call customer support by phone in my country and explain what happened , they reseted my password and resend my new passord to my email , 2 weeks later i could enter my account.

Sony bans people for gamesharing, so i guess you were doing it.

Nope, never gameshared. I play the same games my brother, Dad and sister play online also and neither of them have recieved a ban.

I called up PS3 online and found out that yes I have been banned for violating a term/sevice thing and it was because of my name. I'm kinda over that, but I was hoping there's maybe some magestical way I can transfer my GT5 account over to my new PS3 ID.

So what was the username ?

I won't go into it, as it's not really something that's appropriate. Had 2 swear words in it. Kind of annoying, cause my 3 other PS3 IDs didn't get banned.

Do you play Black-ops?

I do yes, why?

Well, if you weren't immature and had a normal username...

Only way to not lose your save now = get a CFW on PS3. Then it's the matter of 1 sec to move some files from that save to any other account. And yes, it will work just fine, but you can't do it with USB backup/restore, you'll need an access to dev_hdd0 for that, which you can't get without CFW.

Are we supposed to feel sympathetic that you had a username you knew was against the ToS and have now lost everything because of it?

I'm pretty sure that you aren't. If you read clearly, you'd see that he wasn't complaining, just stating what happened. He's only asking for a way to use his SAVEDATA that circumvents the ban.

/FWIW, I don't think it's possible.

If you have nothing to contribute it's probably best you just don't post, thanks :)

+1

No accounting for immaturity.

Was hardly immature, it was a bit of a wind up name because I was fairly decent at COD4.. You're of course, assuming it's something like GOOCHMAN.. Which is well off.

Sorry, but what's a CFW?

Can you explain further? I have no idea what you're talkin' about. :x but I'm interested.

If you had the ability to read between the lines I said this:

"Now I'm not overly suprised, nor annoyed that the username is banned. My issue is, well, I lost my beloved GT5 save!!"

I'm not bothered about getting banned, it just sucks that I've lost my GT5 save, when really, if it was GT4/3/2/1 or almost any other game I'd just load it up on another account. Especially when majority of it's been just played offline, and I built up several perfectly tuned drift cars..

There you go. I'm not expecting no sympathy. I was just wondering if there's a way to avoid having my save data bound to my PS3 ID.

Even if I can permanently transfer it over to another account, so that I can send myself the 3 or 4 drift cars I spent several hours perfecting.

Custom Firmware. It gives you an access to many features, such as homebrew, backup loaders which can install your own games to hdd and then you can play with much faster loading times, etc. Google it if your interested.
But if your PS3 on OFW (official firmware ) 3.56 already, it's not possible to get a CFW for it... yet. But it's still possible to get your save working if you have a friends with PS3s who has a CFW/don't mind to install a CFW.

I did have something to contribute.

I did have something to contribute.

At the risk of feeding the troll... :dunce:

He's already been taught a lesson by having his PSN ID banned by Sony. He's not complaining about it. He's accepted the punishment and moved on. You add nothing to this conversation by wagging your finger at him.

Probably not my place to say but I think talking about CFW and such on the forums is against the AUP, I'd PM each other about that sort of stuff just in case you get banned here too! At risk of infracting said AUP myself, I will say that I can't think of any 'legitimate' (depending on your view of CFW) methods of transferring your cars, unless maybe you just don't sign in to PSN? Surely if you're not on the Internet you can access your account? I would assume you've already tried this though so I'm probably missing something here. I did only skim read the OP, mind.

You can mention it exists, but talking about the specifics of how to bypass Sony security and upload games to the HDD (which are precursors to piracy) are verboten.

At the threadstarter: have you asked if they could reopen your account with a different username?
