Completing the Game?

I doubt I'll ever complete the game. I like some of the races too much and I do them over and over. The only downside I can see is winning the same cars.

Let's take for instance the race where the max HP is like 95 or something and you won't even break 100mph... Maybe I'm too picky but it's hard for me to justify spending my time on that, even though at this point I could win it in my first try (or already did), when I can drive my favorite cars on my favorite tracks to my heart's content, which is why I play at all.

I'm something like 35% complete after five months and I don't care. And I never finished GT1. I think I skipped the Compact Car Cup and probably an endurance race or two... it's hard for me to find the time for those.

Does anyone else share my perspective? If not, what's the big deal, huh? :p
 
I'll probably never finish it either.:p I'm at 59.XX%, and I doubt I'll ever get higher than 70 or 80%. I'm gonna do all the enduros, but there's no way I'm gonna go out and buy a Ford Ka just to do the event and complete the game:rolleyes::p I'm also going to work for all golds on licenses. I'm at 41 now.....:p
 
I debated completeing the game (98-100%, depending on the version), but after a few months or so, I finally got past the 57% barrier and finished it all up. It bothered me that I wasn't really "done", so I spent a little time here and there completing the races Sony/PD were paid to have in the game.

There's some decent cars in the Manufacturer's Events, but also lots of junk. I can't see why there needs to be so many Kei car events, few stand out; many of those races are so darn easy. And those GT3 racers complain about a Vitz Cup...boo hoo, try wasting about 100,000Cr per car just to get it race-modified!

And why an MR-S cup, but not MR2? Why a Ford Ka event, but not one for Mustangs? No Supra event? Why do non-GTR's get the shaft? And so it goes...it's up to you whether you feel these races are important or not. But you can't knock them until you've tried them.

The upside to the Manufacturer's Events is this: if you're not ready to get all the licenses, then you can buy a nicer car (that happens to be an "event" car) and get to know all the circuits. Also, if you need a few bucks, or want a random circuit, you take your car there. So having a GT-R, Impreza, or Tuscan lying around your garage isn't a bad thing. Some times the racing is awfully close. Other times, it's just awful.

I think your should complete the game at least once. For any new games after that, I consider all rally, enduros, special events, and GT league races won a complete game.
 
i'm about 50.76% percent done with the game. i finished all the
rallies and the GT league. i have less than 10 more special events to do to. i,ve only done one endurance, and i need to do some more manufacturer races. GT2 is one large game.....
 
Well, I've finished all the GT League, all the special events, all the the rallies and 4 endurence race. I've even finished all of arcade mode in professional! But guess how many manufacturers races i've finished? Get this.......1. Yes, 1. Do you know why? cause they are a waste of time! I rarely buy cars and keep them. I win everything. But most of the manuf. challenge cars you need to buy. BORING!! I think that i'll stick with finishing the enduros and licenses.

Must all the license tests be completed with a gold medal in order to achieve 100%?

Can anyone tell me what I'm missing?

Btw, does GT3 allow a person to transfer his/her licenses?

You didn't even mention the race with the little farm cart. :lol:
I hated the durn Manufacturers events. Most of them, anyway. I truly hate the useless races.

It looks like you are missing the 4 Event Generator races. They are located in the page after the GT World League races (see the upper right corner arrow). Those races are a snap; no matter what you choose against them, the computer will send fairly easy machinery to battle you.

The pay-out isn't too good; but you get an unusual mix of cars battling you on random tracks for 2 laps. (1 race each for Easy/Medium/Difficult, and a 5-race points series for Expert.) By the way, trophies fail to appear, but it does count.

It also sounds to me that you have version 1.0 of the game, which only allows you to complete 98.2% of the game at best.

And Gil, the Midget II race was tricky; even though I had to waste a ton of credits, it's the fact that one tiny mistake means you have to start all over again. To top it all off, I had to complete 2 laps of Grand Valley in that car!

A yes, the Midget II. Slow, ugly, but strangely interesting.

I considered that... I even completed one of the event generator races to see if that was the problem but the percentage remained at 97.7. I'll try completing all and see if that makes a difference.
 
Hey Pupik,

Thanx bro... u were right... the reason it remained at 97.7% even tho I did the first event generator is cuz I'd apparently done one earlier. I completed the others and now I'm at 99.08%... I think this is cuz I lost one race in the expert event generator and another earlier while I'd done the GT500. I'll be correcting that shortly.

lol, i completed this stupid (i mean that affectionately ;) ) game twice, the first time my son erased my memory card (actually that one was like 98.something % done cause i didn't know about the event generator, but did have all golds in the license tests, done without cheating)
 
Wow thanks You guys my GT2 game is on 98.2% and I cant get further, mine is a pal version I think I brought it the day it came out here in Blighty (does that make it a version 1?) so it cant be completed percentage wise I have been trying for 3 DAMN YEARS oh well you live and learn.:cheers: :dopey:
 
OMG...

After getting (finally) GT3 about 5 months ago, I can't imagine being able to sit through the final 20% of the game I need. The graffics seem like they're straight from Atari.
 
I've got three memory cars with the game completed.

The first one was my first game. I was happy to just get through it.
The second I did I also aquired golds in all the lic test but felt as though something wasn't right. It was since I had two loses on it!
So on the third did the same as the second but no losses. I've since put that card away and it is a show piece if you will.
 
Hahah cool, so where do you pick one of these things up? Also do you need special software to muck about with the memory cards?
 
its actually possible to complete the game by more than 100%. trust me i've done it, :D . Complete the manufacturers trophies in your prefered language, ie English. Then by choosing another language next time you start the game, the company vauxhall, changes to "opel". Complete opel's trophy and voila, an extra few % completed. I should point out that this is on the Brittish version of the game.
As for those who think they can't be bothered to get this far, just compete in the races you do like and keep selling the cars you win. Over time the crdeits will roll in, and you'll be able to buy the cars needed for the manufactures trophies as you like. Easy.
