Complex String in 2 player battle??

Before when I used to battle it out with my friend Complex String was not a track available for us to race on, untill now that is. Did anyone else experience the same thing?.. :confused:

Another thing, anyone heard of "The Ghost of GT"? There's an S2000 you can win and when you're in Arcade mode the "icon" of the car shows now picture.. :odd: :eek:

That's an odd one.

Looking for some help here - is the String one of the courses you can beat on Hard mode in single race to "unlock" it? Don't remember doing it myself, but I did the single races two plus years ago now...

It's the "Honda S2000" that you can't buy in the dealership. It's won in the Amatuer Typre R Meeting, the prize car on the right (The top is a Mugen S2000, left a Spoon S2000 and Bottom a Black NSX Type R).. oh, and I have the PAL version
 
My friend and I both finished the game 100% years ago and both have racked up over 600 days each and have been battling now for over a year, but not till recenlty were able to race on Complex String. We never save the game progress anymore, only setups and replay's, so we don't know why we are now able to race on it...
 
from my observation, you seem to get complex string and complex string 2 after you've won all the easy arcade races up to the stage where you get the first ending movie. from the positioning of the track, it seems you may even get complex string 1 after you finish the 2nd last area. i did this fairly early on in my game, so i don't think anything in gt mode affects it
 
umm.. I'm talking about a 2 Player battle on Complex String.

I haven't checked if the Single Race option works, but I'm sure that the only time you can access Complex String is in a Free Run Mode (as in for testing reasons) or when doing a licence test, in other words, you can't race on the track at all!.. untill now that is :D
 
if the track appears in Arcade - Single Player it will appear in Arcade - 2 Player Battle as well. you're asking "how do you get complex string in 2 player battle?", correct?

Complex String appeared for me after i finished Area E on Arcade - Single Player - Easy, and Complex String II after i finished Area F on Arcade - Single Player - Easy. hence, it appears in Arcade - 2 Player Battle as well.
 
It may be that you were confusing Cote d'Azur with complex string. There is no 2 player Cote d'Azur track. You can play it solo, but not against another person.

Perhaps that was what you were thinking?

I have complex string available for 2 player battle, but is it supposed to be available for single race?
 
Actually, what I'm saying is that I did not have the option to race in a 2 player battle on Complex String until now..

I completed the game 100% years ago, and my friend has too, we haven't saved the game since then. I know it's not a single race option. But, has it always been a 2 player race option and we just didn't notice it??

Funny if it is, coz the icon is a bright yellow color! :D
 
The Complex String is unlocked for Free Run and 2-player battle after you complete Area D in Single Race
The Complex String Reverse is unlocked for Free Run and 2-player battle after completing Area E in Single Race

That's what my Official Strategy Guide says
