Composite audio into computer...

Hey, I'm getting a PS2 s-video cable so I can record and play on my computer monitor and speakers because the computer desk is just an overall better gaming area.

However, the audio is still composite audio male, and I have no composite audio female on the back of my computer. It's wierd cuz the comp. audio cable end actually fits into my microphone hole, but it doesn't do anything.

Is there a way I can get audio coming into my computer from my ps2?

Special thanks to Seito4Counter for volunteering to host my first vid.

well what kind of vid card/capture card do you have? to get audio i had to find a cable that splits the yellow cord(or was it a diff color) into left and right audio. worked for me.

What sound card do you have? Does it have an audio input? If so, you can adapt your composite audio to what ever type of cable connector you need. More than likely, if it does have a audio input, it's 1/8" stereo.... Visit your favorate Radio shack for proper fittings...

Sorry, I have a Radeon 9600XT video card with s-video female and onboard audio with 3 stereo holes.

[edit]I'll check Radio Shack tomorrow.. see what they have.[/edit]

I can almost garauntee it's 1/8". Go to Radio Shack and get an RCA to 1/8" adapter. RCA's are mono meaning you have a left and a right RCA, 1/8" mini-jacks are stereo so you only need one for both left and right. So the adapter should have two (mono) RCA inputs, and one (stereo) 1/8" output.

Cool. Thanks for the suggestion.
This video card only has s-video out, so I'm kinda screwed.
I've been looking into capture cards and tv-tuners though.

Preferably one with S-Video in (NTSC) or RCA video in and RCA audio left and right in.

Any suggestions for one under $100cad?

I saw an ASUS FM tuner that has all those features as well as an FM radio for about that much.

What I really want is the ability to play at my computer desk because, first of all, I HATE that high pitched sound that TV's make, and second, because a computer desk and chair is the ideal platform for a clamping steering wheel and pedals. It also looks and sounds way better than a television, especially with direct s-video feed to an 85hz monitor (as opposed to a 60hz TV) and high powered speakers with a sub.

Then there is the whole video capture/editing factor.

This is my prime investment idea right now.

Btw, I have made the intro to my vid and put the music in. It's my first one so it's probably only gonna be a minute or so long cuz it takes alot of nice drifts to make up a minute.

The intro is kind of funny though. Anyone who wants to see it, drop me a line on msn and criticize my face off.

Edit: Sorry, iambrock@hotmail.com
