Wasn't able to find anything on this after doing a search...actually not sure which terms I ought to use.

Anyway, tonight I was attempting the Spider & Roadster Pro races and noticed in the grid a Motor Sport Elise. I was pretty certain that it was not listed in the cars allowed and when I checked it wasn't. To make sure, I bought a Motor Sport Elise and tried to enter the race and I couldn't! What the hell? How come the computer gets to put a car in the race that it won't allow you to enter? :odd:

They did the same for a race in GT2 as well. (GT40 entered by AI but was in breach of the rules)

So maybe they have something like this in every GT game just for a challenge. ;)

It can be beaten though so don't give up hope. :)

I know it can be beat. I haven't really tried that hard. I'm debating between using the TVR Griffith or the Ruf 3400S, both of which I don't have. I'll probably go back and do either the Pro TVR Challenge or the Amateur German Car Challenge so I win credits and the car I need instead of buying them...

you have two options

1. exit the game and restart it until there is no motorsport elise in the pack
2. kick the elise's arse by picking a nice car, tuning it and coming first in the race....its not as hard as you may think.

the Elise is in there but i have run this race several times and found that the Elise 190 often beats the Motorsport version when both are driven by the AI..especially on Monaco...it seems the AI cannot take a single corner on this track without crashing...no wonder PD didnt make a reverse verion of this track..it would be mayhem..

Thats pretty cheap,I guess its a taste of our own medicine by having the A.I cheating too.:irked: :trouble:

But we can't really "cheat" even if we use F1's in the game as unfair of an advantage that may be...because we're still abiding by the computer's rules.

VX220 is an even match with Exige, and 3400S absolutely owns it. Pick one.

I only noticed once that the A.I was cheating.I can't remember wich race it was but it was at Deep Forest and the A.I was using the Clio Race Car.It was a race with tire damage and i had my stop in lap 5 i think and the next lap 1 A.I car went into the pit and i passed it and 2 laps later the race was over and i had won. After that i looked at the replay and saw that the A.I Clio wich i passed was gong at double speed during the first three corners. It was incredible, with 220 km/h through the 1st corner.

That might just be a replay error. I was at Cote D'Azur and after winning the race I wanted to check out the artwork on that track. Didn't get to see much because my car just hit the wall, sat there, then did a 180 and started coming back down the hill after the first right. It looked like I was confused as to which way I was supposed to go. I kept watching it for about a couple minutes until the pack lapped me...but the thing is, I WON the race. I thought what if the PS2 thought I lost? But when I exited the replay, I did get the prize credits and prize car.

I searched the forum and found I wasn't the only one:
HERE

Although I have noticed once in awhile the car behind me suddenly make up a 4-5 second deficit...

I noticed the elise on the pro spider and radster also. I enterd with a cobra but with the handiling i couldn't beat the elise. So I entered my elise, and then couldn't due to race regulations. Still wondering what to use in that race. Any ideas?

Try the Ruf 3400S. This can win with very few upgrades. The Griffith 500 is also a certain winner. Also try using the Elise 190 which will beat the Motor Sport Elise when tuned.

Ruf is good, TVR 500 is good, the Elise doesnt qualify so you cant use it.

I used the Vauxhall VX220 which won comfortably easily beating the Elise Mosotsport and Ruf and the TVR 500....i won Monaco with 20 or so seconds ahead and i wouldnt say i am a particularly gifted racer..

my settings for this car are posted in the settings forum.

The Elise 190 can be entered into this race. It is the Motor Sport Version you cant use.

I don't think it's that much faster. At any rate, I used the 3400S that I won by going back to the Amateur German Touring race and finished the event. I was able to do the first one with T5 tires but only beat the AI by 0.25 s...T2 tires are the way to go definitely.
