Hi guys

I recently got a brand-new computer and I'm having a few problems with it when it comes to downloading the lastest Flash player. Before returning to university, the computer was able to access any site that I went to, but ever since I've been connected to the university network, I keep getting a message telling me that I need the latest version of Flash - version eight - in order to view websites. It's a common message I get, whether the website is Honda's F1 site or the Quantum of Solace page or even the GT5:P web address.

Every time I try to download the Flash player, I get a message telling me that the computer was unable to authenticate the installation (or some such). The problem is that I'm pretty sure I already have this version of Flash installed on my computer as the websites were working perfectly before I got to university, so the problem is either A) my computer or B) the network. I'm pretty sure it's my computer as the communal computers downstairs run the Flash plug-ins just fine. So why did my computer suddenly decide to stop recognising Flash? And why can't I re-download it again?

check your flash version: linky (among hundreds of others you could google)

Suggestion: try a different browser. If you're using Firefox, get the flash version switcher (an extension) and see if playing around with that solves any issues for you.

And, also consider asking this in the Computers and Internet forum.

I got something like that before. The solution for me was just to make sure I exited out of my browser during install. Try that if it does not work hey it was worth a try.

I have slightly similair problem, Firefox does show the flash good, but IE does not show all flash (youtube works, my own site works but thats it), adobe site says flash player is already installed :/
