Cone challenge 5 (X-bow coffee break)

I searched the forum for help with this but surprisingly nothing came up. This was my last mission to get 100%.
The gold time is 38.000, the best I could get was 39.400. I struggled with this for three days, more than the dumb drifting.
The trick to this challenge is the aids setup. I normally only use ABS because I felt the ASM and ASC slowed me down. Well for this challenge and this crazy car the aids helped. Shaved 2 seconds on my first try.

ASC mild

I hope this post will save someone a lot of frustration.
 
That was was tough. I think my strategy was to just wing it and go all out and try to get lucky.
 
The key to this challenge is to use the lift off oversteer to be quick around the tight corners, then power on and brake hard. The technical bits where you need precision aim, you can take your time.

Achieving a time below 35 seconds is quite possible.
 
I loved this challenge. I ran it loads of times before finally getting gold. I used to do it a few times as my warm up before racing. I kept going left of the obstacle on the final straight, but the first time I went right of it I got gold!
 
But did you guys use aids? I'm very average driver but the ASM and ASC made a huge diference for me here.
I had very little problem beating the game without aids, except this mission.
 
Only ABS 1. Took about five tries on DS3. It's about knowing where the edges of the car are and getting a good line.
 
Wow, you guys are good.
I think this mission is a problem only for people with average driving skills like me. Really good drivers can get through it with no aids, and people that don't have enough experience have the aids on all the time.
 
Only used ABS 1 and got gold after about 3 tries. Not so hard, but you just have to be careful on corner entry and exit due to the MR physics of the X-Bow 👍
 
I looked on youtube and copied the line the guy was taking in the video - gold after a few tries:tup: I had all aids off - not for kudos, just out of habit. I didn't think that leaving some aids on would benefit. I might have to go back and try it out:tup:
 
Nice tip man, did it and it inspire me to finish all the 🤬 cones challenges!
Now i finally reached 100% game completion!
