For people like Code_kev and NissanRacer, I figured I'd talk about why I dislike the XBOX.
GTPlanet, I hope you can accept why I'm doing this, and that you can respect my honesty. I'm not expecting people to win me over or convince me I'm wrong. (1) One reason I dislike the XBOX is because the graphics look too much like a PC. I've called it a "hyped-up gaming rig embodied into a console." It's just too much like a PC if you ask me, and the controller is seemingly the XBOX's Sidewinder. I've played some XBOX games, but I've just haven't been a big fan of the system. (2) My next reason I dislike it is because of multiplayer. I know mutilplayer is hot right now, but the thing is, I don't want to keep hearing about XBOX Live-enabled games. XBOX Live is an option to me. I don't do multiplayer (more on that in the future), so I couldn't care less about having to pair up with people. I'd rather play a game where I can just play the game as best as I can and not have to worry about taking on others around the world. Plus, I don't work. So I can't pay for online services with money I "earn." I'd rather play a game that isn't reliant or heavily dependent on multiplay (examples: SOCOM 2 for PS2, Full Spectrum Warrior, Project Gotham Racing 2, Topspin...). (3) All in all, I think the XBOX is a PC in a console. Only thing is that you don't have a mouse. You'd might as well make PC games reverse-compatible with the XBOX. If I can play my shareware version of Wolfenstein (1992) on a console, I'm proud to have a machine to play PC games. But I like the PS2 more because I own one and I think it's not outdated. Basically, the XBOX isn't going to be on my Christmas wish list anytime soon. As much as NASCAR tries to be regarded as the NFL or NBA in America, I think the XBOX is trying to combine a PC into a regular gaming console.
I basically think that while it's a unique idea, I think that the XBOX can't decide on whether or not to be a console or a PC. While it's deciding, there are some nice XBOX games I wish the PS2 could handle, or at least be passable on the PS2. But, I never really been excited about the XBOX. So, I've honestly spoken my mind about the XBOX. If there's anything else I want to confess about, I'll be sure to do that in other forums with other threads. With that said, now you have an idea as to why I dislike the XBOX.
