Is the old shaped F1 car still purchasable? Or do we have to go with those screaming cat ferrari's?

Hence the title, just wondering if anyone has seen or bought the old styled F1 racer or is it just those two Ferraris now...

Yes, the F-GT is still in, but I'm pretty sure it will have Cat Scratch Fever too.

Still waiting to find mine in the Used Lot. :grumpy:

Poor decision because what other events can
the Ferraris race in? Also is the Red Bull RB6 in the game?

can you only purchase those formula GT's n the used car lot? and if so how much? surely we can win one some where, thats the only extreme races I have left to do (as well as the enduros of course)

The Red Bull RB6 is not in the game. Bernie Ecclestone owns the rights to all F1 cars in videogames somehow except Ferrari who negotiated a different deal with their huge balls of steel

He is the commercial rights holder - he doesn't own the rights to the cars. All the teams could have their cars in the game separately if they liked. They just aren't allowed to link it to brand that is the 'Formula One' world championship and 'F1' etc.

nope, it will not show up. this is irritating me so much. 2+ hours searching for this junk. i've seen about a million mazda miata mx-5s. i swear if i see another i will throw my controller at the tv

Ya I'm in the same boat. I've been playing b spec for the last week because all I need is the formula gt. Its taking forever for it to show up. Your right about all the mazdas though lol.

Go check the used car database thread. A few of us are working on the pattern. There is a pattern, it just takes forever to repeat. Over 2 game years it seems.

If you can download the biggest database, which would be Fasta's, and find your current set of cars (it is explained in the thread) you can predict exactly when a certain car will show up.

For example, I know the Formula GT will show up on Day 389 or something for me. Unfortunately, I'm at Day 385 and only have about 3.2 million, so I'll be waiting a LONG time for another one, unless I can get a gift from someone.

sorry for the poor pic, it was from my phone's camera. but there it is. I happened to spot it in the Used Lot. unfortunately, I don't have enough credits at that time. it would be long before i get this opportunity again.

I found one today but I don't have money enough. is only that race Formula GT or I can use Ferrari F1 ?

What day on the Excel spread sheet is it listed?

I used to think that... but closer investigation shows that not to be the case.

The only team who can licence their own car is Ferrari. For all the other teams their cars (and associated liveries) are licensed by association to Formula One Management (and SLEC) under the control of Bernie and others.

There's also a moratorium that prevents the image rights 'older' season cars from being licensed, I'm not sure how long that is.

Ferrari have always had a 'special relationship' with F1, probably because they're the only team to have run in every season of F1 (even before it was called F1) and because of the strength of the Italian contingent on the WMSC.

Let's face it, they're also the only team who are paid by F1 to be there rather than the other way around...

The structure of this games is just ridiculous. All cars in the game should be available to buy at any time as soon as you have the credits. Any other system is pointless these days, and shows the age of GT.

What day on the Excel spread sheet is it listed?

On his spreadsheet it was on day 389 or something I think. But that doesn't mean it's on your day 389. The car lists are all the same, but they're shifted for different people. It doesn't appear to be tied to PSN, or PS3, or GT5 CD. There's something else generating the starting point but we haven't figured that out yet.

For you to find out where you list is go to your used car dealer and find a rare car in your group of 30. Make note of the cars around it on each side. Then go search his spreadsheet for that rare car. If the cars around it are the same then look at what day that happened on his game. If you then go look at your game day (it's in save data in the XMB) you'll know how many days you're shifted off from him.

You can then use that to predict when a car will show up for you in your game based on when it showed up for him.

Having said all that, you may not find your current list in his list. He only has about 450 days so far, and the cycle appears to be much longer than that, at least 2 game years it appears, so he may not have gotten to the part where your list is yet.

Sorry that's long winded, it's pretty complicated to explain. There's more info in that thread.

So I do some grinding on Indy to get enough credits for this car. I take a look in the used car lot, and there it is! Great timing as I just have enough $$$. Click on purchase and what ... is ... this? I need to be level 24 to purchase, but the race is for level 23? Now I will have to wait for it to come around again while I grind my way to 24. Total horse ****!

I think this is made spesific for fans.. in the end only fans will end this game.. and all other will not.. I think this is the case of this Formula GT and Trucks hard to find thing, all other just will give up.. we who sit here and care, will at end be king of the hill :) Kaz gave us a test....

...nah.

This is an RPG with cars. Obviously.

The FGT was hard to get. The first one I saw I was level 23 and not enough cash. It took a while for another one to appear but I got it.

As for the trucks being hard to get that is not the case at all. I have all the trucks but one and could have gotten it last night if I wanted it.

The Dodge is the bronze award from the IA driving test. The F150 I have seen several times in the car lot as well as the Toyota and the Dodge. The Chevy SSR I got as a prize for a race somewhere and the Chevy concept has shown up in the car dealer as well.

The F1 models in the dealership can only race in F1 "only" restricted online races, Practice Mode, and Photo Travel. You can imagine my shock when I bought one for $12,500,000 and I could not race it in anything, because almost no one has one. So, I was basically stuck with a kick___ 12.5 million credit paperweight.

Thank you very much. You answered that perfectly.
