Confused about Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

Is this supposed to be a 1st person shooter like previous RE games or is this more like Call of Duty where it is more for playing co-op or online ? I love the RE series and can't wait for RE6. That's my type of shooting game. I like playing one player with a good story. But I don't play COD or any of those other games cause they seem more geared towards playing online and so forth which doesn't interest me even remotely.

I am curious if this new RE game is more multiplayer or online based cause if it is, I'd just wait till November (RE6). But if there is a good deal of stuff I can do on my own offline, I'd save up for a copy. I've read up some details from a few sites but I am not sure which way this game is leaning towards. Anyone know for sure?
 
From what ive read i think its more of a multiplayer game. Its supposed to be in 3rd person im pretty sure, plus the people making it made the most recent Socom game. I dont think its going to be like the usual RE (4-6) so your best bet would probably be to wait for 6. It still looks like it might be promising though. In a multiplayer mode you face off against AI zombies, while trying to take out the enemy team.
 
Yea it's more like a spin-off game. As ImaRobot said it is geared towards online/4-player co-op but can obviously play single player if you want with 3 AI.

IMO i tlooks quite good, so hoping a couple of my friends will get it asco-op should be fun
 
The developers for the Socom series are in this..I just hope that they fixed the A.I...
 
I know my cousin would be down if I asked him to buy it too. He loves co-op games and I think he like RE a lot. But now that you mention single player with AI co-op, that sounds as the game is described. And that doesn't really interest me. I would rather wait till RE6.
Having never owned a PS1 but played RE2 at a friends house but never finished it, maybe I should buy a download from the PSN store to hold me over. Or maybe one of those new HD versions.
I don't know why but the RE series is the only shooting game I will play. But it will be hard to put down Forza. I still play daily and I didn't do that when I originally bought the game. I am only 10% done with the career mode so i have a lot to go.
