Hi guys,

I now have the cravings (again) for getting back into GT4, I have a PS2, but since i moved out, i don't have a TV anymore. I heard there are VGA converters around or even using TV Tuner. But TV tuner wasn't really what i was lloking for. SO is anyone here able to suggest me another solution? or tell me the good models of VGA converter( such as brands or prices)

Much appreciated and thanks in advance!!

Well I've tried the VGA cables with a TV Tuner and it didn't work. The picture does show, but it's all green and extremely shaky. No sound either.

Well I've got a:

Leadtek WinFast DTV2000H PCI

and

nVidia 9600GT 512mB card.

Any possible way for this to work? I have all the cables necessary.

Get a PS2 emulator! Lol :)

Crappy joke's over, are you talking about sending it through your PC or just a monitor?

Just the monitor IS possible. Venari does just that at at least the last 2 UKGTPs.

He uses a £50 XGA box. I forget the name/brand.

Edit: He tells me it's a TVBOX 1440.

Though it sounds like exactly the answer the thread-starter was after...

Turbo Lag, have you tried it with the S-video/composite leads? How did you hook your PS2 to the tuner with VGA cables? Your Leadtek card looks like a good candidate since it leaves MPEG2 encoding to the CPU. Delay is low.

The biggest hurdle for attaching a console via TV-tuner is the input lag. If the software you are using lets you watch the PS2 in real-time, then you're done. If it has a buffer to let you rewind, then you'll need to do some tinkering as the buffer will cause a delay between your button press and the response on the screen.

Yep, I tried it with the S-Video. There was absolutely no lag at all, it was instant (the buttons). The problem is that it showed up with a 100% green, very unstable screen which you could barely see. If I can clear that, it'd be perfect.

Double-check your connections. Try the composite lead. Also, make sure you are using the latest drivers for your video card and your TV tuner.

Well I actually read it somewhere that the PS2 to TV Tuner might not work, that it could show up green. I'll try and find the article in the mean time. Now, I'm off to get my PS2 and cables and try again.

Edit: It worked. Now I need sound.

Also tried Xbox, working fine.

Is the quality good? I might go after one so I can set my Genesis up on my desk along with the Dreamcast that's there already.

Either way, too bad there isn't an official VGA box sold for the PS2 like there was for the Dreamcast. I've been thinking of homebrewing one though...
