I've done this before to play IRACING, but for some reason it won't work now? I have my laptop on the desk and my gaming PC on the floor, I've bridge connection and everything but I can't get my PC to get on the internet. I'm trying to download the updates for skyrim and also I wanna play IRACING again.

can someone please shed some light on this.

sorry if this is in the wrong section, I figured this was the best place because all the PC guys are here.

The laptop has connection fine, but the Pc always says unidentifird network. When i bridge the two computers its succsesful but the pc wont connect.

Let me get this straight;

Your Laptop is wireless
Your PC doesn't have a wireless connection so you are connecting it to your laptop with an ethernet cable
You are 'bridging' the connection and it isn't working.

Does that sound right?

If so, try Internet Connection Sharing instead.

I tried to connect my PS3 using bridging and it didn't work, kept saying limited access. Using ICS instead solved the problem.

Thats what im trying to do. It worked before but i cant get it to work now. Thank you, ill try that.

nope didn't work, it was the same thing I was already doing. thanks for your help though.

If I had long hair I would be pulling it out right now.

Crossover cable (not regular RJ45 ethernet) + bridging LAN with wireless connection on the laptop + ICS should do the trick. I ran my laptop through my desktop for internet one day when its wifi adapter decided it wanted to take a nap, worked fine with that setup.

If it's saying unidentified network it may not be getting an IP problem. Try setting a static IP.

that's what it was saying. I ended up buying a NETGEAR wireless usb connection. works great so far. I signed up for the new beta patch for skyrim and downloaded the high resolution DLC for skyrim. I'm getting better internet connection with my gaming PC then I do with my laptop now :crazy:

thank you for all the reply's and help 👍
