Connection problems?

Hi guys, for a long time now online has been difficult to connect to for some reason.

The majority of times I will join a room and either on the first second or five minutes later I will have "lost" the connection. Not only this, but it has become common that when I try to go to the track (before a race has started) the regulations will not let me in for NO reason whatsoever!

Also, nobody EVER joins my servers, which I'm suspecting is because of my connection "issues".

This has been happening for a few months now (BEFORE the PSN outage!).
A few details of my broadband:

Broadband speed is "normal"
Nat 2 connection
Wired
WPA encrypted
 
I know, its always the same man, some times this happening to me as well. As i have written many times, it depends on the hosts connection/internet settings, and the other players connection/internet settings. I can join rooms with 4 bars, and still its laggy, and many people are disconnections all the time. Reason? Well, its complex so to say. All i know is that online stabilty in gt5 is some how flawed.

Broadband speed is "High"

These are my settings, but still i encounter problems now and then. My bet is on, that people hosting the room and playing in it, runns wireless while downloading stuff. They also havent optimized their settings, like opening the ports and give the ps3 static ip.

As far as i know, people claim that online stabilty improves if you are running thru wire, give ps3 static ip, and open ports. Thats it.

It also depends on the type of router you have, different brands give different results. I recently changed to a gateway router, and i had to open ports manually and give the ps3 static ip, just to be able to play online with good performance.
 
dont join lobbies with a fixed owner. also you see the stars & signal bar?..... pick a room than has 2-3 stars & 2-3 bars....trust me after hours of failing to connect due to 706 error or cant connect to host i narrowed it down to that. ever since i connect on first try.
 
Sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead but I'm having loads of problems right now and I don't know what's up.

I'm running Wireless. I have NAT type 2. Anyways, whenever I go to the Open Lobby menu, no rooms have any bars for some reason and I get different error messages depending on the situation. Sometimes I get "The network is offline" from GT5 and along with that I get "Disconnected from access point" from my PS3. Anyways, I get basically any error message you can imagine. I'm quite confident it's because of my router (DI-624) because when I try to join whilst being on my laptop at the same time I see the connection go down and have the little loading wheel on the bars. I haven't played online in forever and I really want to. Can someone please help me!?!?!?!?!
 
I'm about 30ft away from router. Router also has an additional 1 foot long antennae. I think it's something to do with how the router is setup. Like I don't think I have the proper settings for online gaming. Any ideas on how to change settings to favor gaming?
