Just noticed these last 3 laps pop up whilst doing the 24 hr le mans

Not too bad i thought over 8.5 miles & after 6 1/2 hrs, its dark & its raining. And its been raining since i started. Seriously starting to think im gonna go the whole 24 in the rain.

Anyway just thought i'd have a break from the rain & share

Just noticed my fastest lap would have been done in the dark as well lol

Not bad nice laps...

Thats funny also, it's hard to be that smooth good job

Consistency is the sign of a great driver, something I definitely need to improve on. Well done. 👍

Wow, nice! I'm currently doing the 9-hour Tsukuba race, and I had a sequence of a few pretty good laps which looked like this. I can't remember the lap number, so I'll just number it 1, 2, 3:

3: 0:56.666
2: 0:56.668
1: 0:56.654

So far, my best lap is 0:56.395, after 321 laps (fully modded BMW M3, Racing Hard). I know it's a lot easier on Tsukuba, but I'm not a very consistent driver :p

Cheers guys. Running round in the mighty R92. Been a favourite of mine since GT4 so had no hesitation in what i was gonna use.

Damn Fyshokid they are some pretty close lap times. You got the within 100th trophy yet?

I think my record is four or so laps within .500 of a second of each other? May have been around Tsukuba though, so not so difficult.

Its pretty cool when you get similar laps though, especially when you get two or three in a row that are within 0.00x of each other. :)

I'm doing the race as well at the minute, 787B stock on Racing mediums and my lap times are consistently 3.27 - 3.30. Not as good as you but I think I had a run of 10 laps like this in the daylight, not counting pit in and out laps.

How big is your lead?

About 3 laps at the minute after about 8 hrs & its still raining. I get the funny feeling im gonna get reeled in if the rain stops. That was part of the reason i chose to start it in the rain instead of quitting until i got a dry start. Figured the ai would be useless in the wet & i could build up a lead.

What car are you using? I had a great lead of nearly 1 lap after 5 hours in the 787B in the dry but then I made a huge mistake in underfueling the car at a stop so had to go from Mulsanne corner to the pits at 50mph, lost the whole lead.

Yeah, I got it quite a while ago, actually.

I also just went through my Le Mans footage (I recorded the entire race), and I found this. All three laps are within 86 milliseconds of each other. It was done in clear weather though, which is quite a bit easier than running in the rain:

Ouch mate that must have taken a while to get round lol. Im in the Nissan R92. Total pig to get round the twisty bits but goes like stink down the straight

Damn 👍 Did you really watch 19 hrs of footage though just to find that lol

Just amazing stuff, guys. Bravo/a!

Ever heard of fast forwarding, nismo33? lol

He would have just needed to keep an eye on the lap times. Although the way it was worded, I can see why you would misinterpret that.

Haha, no :p I remembered when in the race I started doing good, and then I just skipped around there to find those laps. It only took 15 minutes or so to see the last 8 hours worth of laps.

Pretty good there :) Maybe you enter a zen mode after 6 hours where the racing is done by the subconciousness??

I've heard somehere that the fastest laps of real 24 hour races are done at night, but I don't remember why...

Instincts? Sounds like a good enough guess. Kind of like you said, zen mode.

The thing I learnt with the 787B was to basically avoid 2nd gear at all costs because the car generates so much wheelspin. On my first stint I did seven laps but halfway around the eighth I had no rubber left at all, couldn't even go in a straight line because of all the wheelspin in 2nd coming out of turns. So after 30 minutes I was about 2 minutes behind in last. After that I stopped using 2nd except in Mulsanne and Arnage. Everything else is done in 3rd or 4th.

Great consistency 👍

I try to stay within .1 - .2 of each lap over a race distance. Obviously with tyre wear involved you slowly loose time though.

Today I did a 5 lap online race at Deep Forest in the Arcade M3 with sports softs.

all 4 flying laps where within .2 of each other. Was pretty happy with that.

Wish i could avoid 2nd & just use 3rd to get going unfortunately its so slow going in the rain a couple are 1st gear lol (tc on 1 not by choice believe me but its impossible without) & the porsche curves are a roll around gently in 4th job

I think I heard it on Europsport during the coverage of the last Le Mans, might have been something about the night being colder than the day and that is good for something...

Makes sense. The air is colder & denser which makes for a more powerful combustion. Used to have a cold air feed on my skyline & boy did it love early morning fog lol
