Sega Data added 👍

I thought the DS heavily outweighed the PSP as far as units sold went.

Oh, I almost forgot: I own ps1, ps2, GB, GBA, DS, and N64

I think the data is units shipped, not units sold. This may be the reason PSP is listed ahead of DS. In Japan, it is estimated that the DS outsells PSP 3 to 1, although the PSP fares much, much better here in the USA.

EDIT: I've owned the PSP, PSone, PStwo, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, and Xbox (as well as a Sega Genesis).

Interesting numbers between the XBox and PS2, makes you wonder why Microsoft would take such a huge risk in releasing the 360 so soon and with so many bugs that still need to be worked out.

I've bought: ps1,ps2,gameboy,nes,snes,and sega. The first "electronic game system" I bought was a tennis game, pong wannabe thingy from radioshack......a while ago.

Can't say that I owned them though. More like the other way around!

And the PS3 will be able to play the almost 2 billion PS1 and PS2 games.

Will be interesting too see.

While many people bash Nintendo i think they have done quite well.

Nintendo is the sleeper. Seriously, though...Nintendo does rule. I'll go as far as saying that they have the lowest suck/total ratio of the games on all of their latest systems.

NINTENDO SIXTY FOURRRRRRRR!!!!

Represent, folks. I'm quite suprised with nintendo 64, actually. I thought it would be like at least number four. That thing was popular. It's still higher than xbox and gamecube, though. Haha. Victory, as it stands.

Oh god... GameCube's so much cooler than 64.

My history:

Famicom
NES
SNES
Super Famicom
GameBoy
PS
GameBoy Color
Dreamcast(Japanese)
PS2
Dreamcast(SEGA Sports)
GameCube
PSTwo

I think.....

Hmmm, my (and brother's) history here.

Sega Mega Drive
PS1 (we may have had 2)
2 Game Boy Colours
2 Gameboy Advances
Sega Dreamcast
4, yes 4 PS2's, including 1 Slim-line. 1 PS2 packed up, and brother wanted to replace his fat one with a slim one.
2 Xboxes
Gamecube
Gamboy Advance SP
Nintendo DS
2 PSP's (my Dad also has one)
1 Xbox 360

I think Super NES is my favorite system of all time. I can't believe some of you have never owned it!

Small_Fryz

What do you guys think about the stats i posted? and the sales figures?

 thats not what i meant ;)

Is any of it suprising?

It seems Xbox wasnt going as good as i had thought.

And nintendo are going very well.

Yeah. They said it was going to be a real threat to PS2 blah blah... But that never eventuated, huh?

I'm surprised by the Nintendo figures - I've never regarded anything they did as good quality, but the numbers speak for themselves. I see the XBox has sold marginally more than the GameCube, and less than than the N64 - I consider both of these Nintendo consoles to be a flop.

I'm really surprised how badly the XBox has done.

I'm also surprised to see the Gameboy at #1, and the PS2 hasn't surpassed the PS1. Overall, these figures are very eye-opening. 👍

Xbox numbers were surprising low, N64 numbers were shockingly high. :D

Like most, I'm suprised the Xbox isn't doing aswell as I thought, and Nintendo is doing much better than I imagined.

From small_fryz the link,

GTA San andreas PS2 = 13.47 million sold
GTA San andreas xbox = 1.06 million sold

The exclusive deal for Sony looks like it works well for them(aswell as the more PS2's sold).

I didnt find N64 a flop but I thought Gamecube was, I was wrong :).

One of my buddies still do not have PS2. He is playing GT1 & 2 on the first Playstation! :scared: I've been pressuring him to buy a PS2(so I can race him on GT4), like for a year now. Unbelivably cheap bastard.

Interesting figures. I too was unaware that Bill’s box barely outsold the Cube, despite having such a broad following in the US. Here’s an interesting Wiki entry that outlines the console wars from each hardware era.

SF, how ‘bout updating post 1 with the Sega figures. :)

Done! 👍

Added another table also 👍

Very interesting, I think if the PS3 is a decent hit Sony will overtake Nintendo with total software sales, And maybe even total console sales, though might be a bit of an ask.

Count me in for NES, SNES, PS1 and 2 PS2's. Fav's would have to be SNES and PS2.
