OK, so lately I have been having problems with GT5. Specifically races that have weather change. The first problem I had was that, I was doing the Extreme Series-Super GT race at the Suzuka with rain. The problem that came up was that there was a black stripe across the sky a couple of the times i went in. It was no big deal though i packed out of the race came back in and it was fine.
Yesterday though it got worse, I was doing arcade races and i could not get it to go into any race tracks that had weather change. It goes to the load screen the bar goes full and is still moving and nothing happens. So I press the PS button on the controller hit quit game and the machine rather than going back to the menu, restarts but all I get is a black screen. So I turn the machine off using the regular power button (not the one on the back) and even then it seems to take too long to shutoff.
Today, I tried to due the hardest gravel event in the Gran Turimso Rally special event. the first time i tried the first stage it worked fine but the second stage there was a band of back specs in the sky. After the car cross the finish line the car just sat there i would not bring up the results menu and pressing pause just paused the game but did not bring up the pause menu. So I did the same thing I described in paragraph two to shut it off. The second time I tried the first stage there were many black bands throughout the sky and when loading stage two it froze up like in paragraph two. Once again I had to shut it down again like in paragraph two.
These are not the only circumstances that its happened under. It tends to do it online too, specifically when I am watching a race and it ends while I am watching it. It gets stuck in the results screen. So I have to shut it down as i described in paragraph two. It has not just done it with GT5 though. It's done it with COD BO and it's frozen worse with that game. I have to skip the step in paragraph two where i hit the PS button and then hit exit game because it wont access that menu. I had to got to straight to using the power button and sometimes even that did not work. In those cases i had to use the switch on the back.
I am starting to think it's not the games and the machine is on its way out. The machine is 2007 80 GB Phat. What do you, guys think?
