I thought of using a fightstick as a separate control panel for gt5 for example wipers lights etc, any thoughts if this would work in conjunction with the DFGT wheel on the PS3.

It may. I use a PS move navigation controller for the same purpose. Map your control panel controller as controller 1 and wheel as controller 2.

For console racers you are limited for the most part to a PS3 controller. The beauty of PC racing is the sky is the limit. Imagine having a Derek Speare button box sitting on your rigs dash.

Indeed. Mine doesn't look quite as nice as the Derek Speare one but does the trick.

Only if you make it out of a DS3's (or another compatible PS3 peripheral) circuit board.

And perhaps, only in GT5. GT5 is the only game (that I know of) that lets you use two controllers at once.
