Controller mappings?

I see from previous threads the mapping for the PS4 controller cannot be altered.

But I can't find any exact details about which buttons/triggers correspond to which functions.

I need to know before I buy this game. Can anyone help me out?

Can't post pics but i will say you can use r2 or right stick for throttle\brake. My controls are. I'm sure someone will post pics for you.

There are now 6 presets for controler..

Gas/brake on triggers
Gas/brake on right joystick
Gas/brake on "X" & "[ ]" buttons

(other 3 presets with some variations and ability to put also steering on right joystick)

What about the gear shift mapping? I normally use triangle for up, square for down. (Y and X on Xbox controller)

I use x to upshift and square for downshift, i will load up the game and take a look for you and will edit this post.

Edit, they have square as gear down and circle as gear up. I should point out though that you can change shift up and down to square and triangle through the PS4s own settings, and thanks to the PS4s latest firmware It's very quick to change between custom and default settings.

I no longer have the game but may get it again however could someone on here confirm if the following controller layout can now be allowed on PS4?

Accelerate: x
Brake: square
Manual gears: triggers
Steering: d-pad directions

Well you sure now that the dualshock4 don't have anymore digital presure buttons...That dualshock 3 got...now It's back again the on/off....What in throttle and brakes mean from nothing to full power...

For a simulation game like Assetto... X button and ⬜ button are far from ideal..

But yes, now with the preset 6 you got throttle and brake in X and ⬜ button, gearshifting in triggers.. But steering keep being in left joystick...
