Controller problem. Help please

Picked up a MS wheel and now I can't use an analog stick to free look at my cars from different angles. Is there a fix for that. Once I try to turn off controller and sign in a traditional remote, the remotes remember which player they were and can't be used. Locked to previous player number. Only way to change is to reboot console and sign in again which allows me to change controllers, but not use free look with wheel still? Huh. I need to reboot and use a different controller to select or shop for cars?
