I have been playing GT3, and I noticed that one of the Formula 1 cars disappear after playing the Laguna Seca endurance more than once. :( Maybe that isn't a cool find but I got more to post here.

I won the F686/M from getting golds for every race in the Professional Hall, even though I skipped over 10 of them. :odd:

The Lancer Evolution street cars also have rear downforce adjustable, as so as the Skyline R33 and R34, Pagani Zondas, RUF RGT, and more, but there are cars with rear downforce that is not adjustable. The Mitsubishi 3000GT, Skyline R32 GTR, TVR Speed 12, and I think that's about it.

The Legacy doesn't really have a LSD like it does in real life stock, but the Dodge Viper GTS/R Concept has one stock with the LSD's at 60.

I will post more secrets about GT3 when I have time. :)

(Would've posted in GT3 General Discussion and Questions, but there isn't a thread like that to be found. :( )

You can win the F688/S from the Miata Endurance with a stock miata fairly easy too. If you win that, you have the sexiest F1 out there, no matter what color it comes in.

Yeah, I've also been through 700 laps of hell trying to win an F1 from the Laguna Seca Endurance. :banghead:

When I did the Laguna Seca enduro, I noticed that there were only three prize cars. GTPlanet's Prize Car list shows two different F1's, but there was only one spinning around on the "Congratulations!" screen. But that was the first time I did Laguna.

I just checked a few other sites, some show 4 prize cars for the LS enduro, others show 3 (the F687/S is missing.) I wonder if there's some other condition that controls whether there will be one or two F1's in the prize car pool.

I once made a bad turn in some car (forget which one). I was at Cote and trying to make that first turn up the hill. Somehow I got too eager and hit a guardrail or something. Or maybe some other car slammed into me.

Anyways, next thing I know I'm spinning...but not an ordinary spin. I was spinning LIKE WHEN YOU GO TO THE CAR WASH! Not going anywhere, just spinning in the same spot for a few seconds. No s:censored:tin folks! It never happened again nor has it since.

Back in my GT1 days, I remember once doing the Clubman series and as I won I slid across the finish line at Route 5. An MR2 came up behind and smacked into me, but instead of running into a wall or something, he literally flew like 40 feet in the air!

It wasn't a normal fly pattern, either; it was more like the MR2 did a huge bunny hop--took off all 4 wheels at once, then landed on all 4s!

You should try driving a car on two player mode. You just move, then completely stop, then turn left and right, then you will be spinning like crazy. That lost me so many races when the AI bumped me into a wall and I tried to turn out.

Has anyone else noticed when you do a race at Test Course in which tire wear is working (Like the Wind for instance) that your inside tires wear out before your outside tires? Usually it's the other way around: the out side tires are supposed to wear first since they're carrying most of the weight in the banks.

CNG, take a moment and do a search for "Trial Mountain Monkey"

You'll also find UFO's at Grand Valley.

Oooohhh... Aaaahhhhh....

:grumpy:

That is due to the fact that on the turns, the weight is shifted on the inside tires because of the tilt.

Der Alta - Those UFO's appear when racing the A.I.?

EDIT: DP :(

Don't worry about the double post, with that number of hours between them its OK (it the one done within minutes or just for the sake of grave-digging that are an issue).

Now on the other bit, sorry but that's not correct. Banking would not cause the load to transfer to the inside (which would be required for the inner tyres to wear quicker) unless it was sufficiently steep for the car to be unable to travel around it. As long as the car is able to drive the banking then the load is travelling towards the outside of the car and the greater load will be on the outer tyres.

I was actually reading a piece in a Racecar Engineering back issue today (Vol 15 No5) in which it was asked if greater load could ever be on the inside tyres during cornering. the answer is as follows...

Mark Ortiz
The total load transfer for both wheel pairs, as a given lateral acceleration, depends on the centre of gravity (c of g) height and the track width. The only way to get zero load transfer at both ends of the car would be to have the c of g at ground level. the only way to get load transfer inwards at both ends would be to have the c of g below ground level. This is of course impossible for a 'normal' car.

Note - Mark Ortiz runs a chassis consulting service primarily working with oval and road racers.

Sorry but this one is a 'glitch', real world physics don't back it up.

Anyone notices that the Red R Emblem Cup, the one in Ametuer League gives you more money per race, with less laps, and easier opposition, compared to the one in the Professional Hall? :odd:

When I wanted to practice Laguna Seca, I did it by running the Amateur Red Emblem over and over. Sure, it was a minor nuisance to have to start a new race after just 3 laps. But 30,000 credits is pretty decent for 5 or 6 minutes of racing. Too bad it's limited to Skylines. (I ran the Loctite Zexel so I could practice with an FR car instead of 4wd.)

Edit to add: But you're right - the Amateur race is 30K for only 3 laps. In the Pro's, it's 25K for TEN laps.

The Nissan Skyline GT-R's aren't full time 4WD's... ;) (Unless you buy a VCD.) They are FR's until 4WD grip is needed, then it would be like 20/80 torque distribution.

Huh, never noticed that! One thing I did notice is the Beginner Altezza races pay like $1000 per event, even tho they are arguably the toughest manufacture races in the Beginner League and require the most upgrades per car to win.

In comparison, I managed to win all the Beginner TT, Type R, Lancer/Evo, and a few others in cars that were stock or nearly so...and these races all pay more! :grumpy:

I found a cool thing, you can break out of SSR5 with the pit stop on free run, because you can use the pitstops when you are doing free run, without autodrive. This is great for getting a short cut on Cote d' Azur. The pit stop is treated like a normal road, where you can drive on yourself. :)

That is the A.I. then... The part of the track isn't loaded yet, so it appears like they are floating. :D

Myth Busted. ;)

Grand Valley, and you'll only find them when racing the AI. They are over the lake.

OH I was wondering what you were talkin about! If you sit near the pit lane at Laguna Seca and point your car towards the corkscrew you can sometimes see these UFOs too. :)

You can use the X button for reverse, after you hold triangle and L2 or R2, then let go of triangle and hold X.

Also same thing goes for accelerating. Hold X and L2 or R2, then let go of X and hold triangle.

EDIT: Just don't let go of L2 or R2 for this to work. 👍

Can anyone confirm this,is there a "Loch Ness Monster" at Trial Mountain?I think i read it somewhere but there was no proof whether it exist or not....

Yeah imm guna search the UFO Thing

all i can get is this bs about setting your date on the ps2 to 1.1.3000 and ufos will appear in your garage :@

Whats a Loch Ness?

I found a replay of the Diablo JGTC driving, as well as many other cars.

*Slight inappropiate content warning for the top picture, I don't know why he added that.* :grumpy:

It's such hogwash. Even in Wikipedia where it has the 7th century sighting...the dude (Columbia or something) stands in front of the monster and goes "Halt! Thou shalt not go further in the name of the Christ!" Yeah right..man if a monster were coming out of a lake towards me I'd be a running man! All I'd be saying is "AHHHHHHH!!!"

The Nissan R390 GT1 Road and Race cars are both real, and yet PD labeled them as fake, by putting LM Race/Road car as thier name. Maybe there is something different that PD has changed with the cars to have them labeled LM, which usually means fake for Gran Turismo games.

They did that with the Jaguar XJ220 race car too. It exists in real-life yet PD made an LM out of it. Odd. Perhaps there was too much that couldn't be modeled correctly or they didn't have access to the real versions so they made up LM ones instead. Who knows.

i think its because Jaguar refused to provide full information about the car then PD made up the stuff from thereon. I have no clue, that's a possibility, no?

As for the Diablo thing, jsut out of curiousity, is that "power sliding" or "speed drifting"?

That could be the case, seeing that the Nissan R390 GT1 doesn't even have 800HP, it only has about 680HP with oil. It's still one heck of a monster. The Toyota GT1 only has 680HP too with oil change, and it's not called a LM Race Car. Hmm... Supposed to have around 790-820HP or so.

I found out how much of a monster the Nissan R390 GT1 can be in the Pro League. It hits 6th gear on Laguna Seca! That's 190MPH on the first curved straightaway.

I noticed that in GT3 you can trade cars to yourself. You ever wanted 2 F686/M's and save one of them for later, while you run the miles on the current one? All you have to do is pay around 1,250,000Cr and you have 2 of the same cars. If you upgraded a car and want to trade to yourself to have duplicates, you get the upgrades for free and only pay for stock price.

Yes it is a monster. I personally never raced any GT1 cars...I would just wind up blowing the sims away. :indiff:
