I was at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois the other day and caught the IMax movie. It wasn't the dome screen, but it was a huge screen that was like 72' x 94' made out of a single sheet of canvas. The movie was called "Speed" and it was narrated by Tim Allen.
There were multiple places he went to examine speed. They looked at an olympc runner (don't remember the name, she is considered the fastest woman on earth and had a huge winning streak going), a mountain biker, and a Race Car driver (his name was Lucas something, he drove a Porsche (GT3 maybe?) and won LeMans a few years back). They also showed some of the work they did to create the Porsche Cayenne.
The movie was in HD and was on that giant screen. They showed some cool racing moments and had full coverage of the 10 hours of baby leMans, or something like that, which was at Road Atlanta. They showed some hood camera shots where you cannot see any of the car and all I could think of was Gran Turismo. Anyway, the parts with the runner was kind of boring. The mountain biker was a little more exciting, but the racing and the Cayenne Turbo stuff was the most exciting. The camera angles were awsome.
If any of you happen to go to Six Flags Great America, I would recommend seeing it just for the racing. If you are worried about losing coaster time, it's only 45 minutes and air conditioned!
