I've seen a few cool pics here on GTPlanet.net, but I wanted a thread devoted to cool police cars - marked, unmarked, fast, or just insane (like an Italian police Lambo I've seen). Feel free to add some of your own pics.

I have attatched a few pics that satisfied my cravings for a cool police car. (Who knew the Arabs had such a cool police vehicle?) Enjoy!

In order, here are the pics:
1. Ford Focus & Skoda - Hungary
2. Dodge Ram 2500 - Mexico
3. Chevrolet Caprice - Abu-Dhabi
4. Holden Monaro GTO - Australia
5. BMW Z3 - Australia
6. Ford Crown Victoria P71 - United States

Cop cars are cool as long as they are not in my rear-view.

I like just plain crown viccies, personally.

How about having these in your rear view? Speaking of cool cop cars, I'm buying a set of police decals for my X-Mods Supra, inpiration from these two cars, obviously.

No one can escape that thing, unless you're actually driving one. (Or an Enzo, Murcielago, etc..)

or unless you have a bruce lee poopra. :D

i think BSO (broward sheriff's office) down here has a full fledged Drag-cruiser. giant blower, giant meats....that car will smoke yours off of the road....until it runs out of fuel in 10 seconds.

**** me, now I have to look over my shoulder when I'm driving in Colorado.

I always get so scared about cops but I still drive like a total idiot. Where's the lesson there?

Don't get caught. Obviously.

I've never seen it, but we Brits have one of these to contend with. Doesn't get used often though, because of the cost and the fact that you can get similiar speed from a Volvo or BMW estate.

J.C.

The Japanese have turned almost all their sports cars into police cars!

The Skyline R34
Mitsu. GTO/3000GT
Subaru Impreza
Most likely a Lancer one too.
RX-7 Type-S
ANd probably more.

But they haven't got the NSX yet, YAY!

You should add the photo's from the Japanese Cop Car thread, in the car picture's and video's forum, to this thread. They look like G35's, Skylines, and Lancer Evolution's.

I copied them -

That arab car is not a Caprice. This New Jersey one is:

The one you pictured is a Malibu...

Hmm, the Caprice not a bad piece... the car has prescence... we have a Buick Roadmaster (Caprice's brother) and almost nobody tailgates or passes us... same thing happened with our Grand Marquis (Crown Victoria's bother)... it's probably because people think we're undercover cops

The Arab car is called a Chev Caprice over there, It actually is a Holden Statesman exported from Australia, they have the Chev LS1 engine in them.

What does the US model got to do with it?

Its a Abu-Dhabi (and other Arab countrys) car, This car has nothing to do with the US (exept the engine).

In Australia we have the Holden Caprice (A even more luxurius version of the Statesman). Its just the name GM has given the cars.

Most of the cars around here are Crown Victoria's, but I have seen a few of these Intrepid police vehicles.

This is not a picture of one from our city -

We also have some Impala police cars. The picture isn't from our police department -

Around here the companies building the cop cars, Ford, wants to put advertisements for local places and then those advertisement's will pay for the car and the police department's will only have to pay a dollar, because in this state you need to pay at least a dollar for a car to transfer a title to it. I think that it will look a little Nascar'ish. I found an article on it, except it is from Florida. They are going to do the same thing here. http://www.csmonitor.com/2002/1003/p01s01-ussc.html

I read that in Italy they have Ferrari's and Lamborghini's as police cars. I don't know if this is true. I can't find any pictures of it.

Nice cars.. Those Skylines..
A Jag S-Type R patrol car, given by a Finnish automotive magazine.

Otherwise we just have boring Mondeos and VW Transporters.

I know I'm kinda drifting off topic here but I've been wondering...is the "new" Ford 500 the European Ford Mondeo? I don't feel like doing research (ahh, laziness, the American way  ) but they do look similar. I saw one in Italy in April and I thought it was the 500, but when I looked on the rear decklid (trunk) and it said "Mondeo". Just a little question...

Thanks guys, for all the pics! I didn't think this thread would even do as well as it is doing. Keep it up! 👍

Here's some pics. The first is the new 500, the second - the Mondeo. This Mondeo is obviously equipped with some sort of aftermarket kit to make it sportier, but look at the shapes of the cars...

Thank you, VIPER, for clearing things up. I thought more people knew about cars, but I guess I was wrong...:O... no offense to anyone. Oh well.

Holden is a GM-owned company. Since GM had a car named the Caprice for many years, and they changed the name of the American Caprice to Impala in '95, they still had rights to the name, so they put it to good use. . . in a different country. The Holden Caprice an Australian luxury car. It's kind of like seeing a Linoln Town Car police car. Both cars are in similar price ranges, and are considered luxury in their "home" country.

The street Holden Caprice/Statesman:
