What was this, some sort of Subaru Outback type "rasied 4WD wagon" thing? It's even got plastic fender cladding in a few of the pictures! I do kinda dig it, I'll admit, but it's not enough to make it cool really. It's got that typical conservative styling from VW, which looks good but not super special or eye-catching or anything. To most people this would just be some old wagon, and I'm with them for the most part. Meh, it's fine.

Definite Cool factor to this one. Nothing more classic than an old style station wagon/estate car. Surely this Volkswagen Passat wagon is pretty cool. So that's my vote.

In terms of lifted, boxy Volkswagen’s, the Golf Country that I nominated a long time ago is way more interesting, unique and cool than this one.

This is probably a very decent car but it’s dreadfully boring so I’ll stick with a meh.

I've always had a bit of a soft spot for the B2 Passat. VW styling at the time was very workman-like and the interior is very drab (though I'm sure it is well made) but it somehow looks quite good. The fact that it was an Outback 9 years before that influential car bumps up the cool factor. It scrapes a cool, just.
