Nifty looking little car from a segment that all but no longer exists today (In North America at least). Fluctuates between meh and cool based on the spec, went cool in the poll.

Honestly I've never gotten the hype surrounding all of these Honda FWD sports cars. Between the Integra, the CR-X and the Civic, they're all just rebodied Civics to me. I honestly wonder why Honda bothered making so many derivative models of what were essentially the same thing.

At around the same time you had the CR-X, Civic, Integra, Accord Coupe and Prelude going. Would it really have killed Honda to make at least one front engine, rear wheel drive sports car in that lineup? Something to rival the Nissan Z-cars or the Mitsubishi GTO of the time.

"But V-Tech bro."

Nope, sorry. It's a meh.

Always SZ. When I was in high school, I used to have Mugen and Jackson Racing catelogues from the 1980s. Didn’t own a car, but ordered them just so I could look at the cars everyday. Later in life, nearly bought a CR-X before getting my Accord, but It was a high probably to get stolen where I lived, at the time.

Also, when I starting buying UK car magazines, didn’t know the more potent SiR variant exited until then. It was some metallic teal Color and read ”160 hp”! We only got 125hp in the states. Can’t remember if that was due to emissions regulations or cost.

It isn't powerful. It doesn't look intimidating. No one "cool" would ever want to drive this. No one trying to be "cool" would drive this. It's just another front-wheel drive economy hatchback. Nothing special. But, you know what? This car from its period probably has more character and personality than a lot of front-wheel drive cars today. As I'm told, this car is pretty roomy to be so small. I never considered the Honda CR-X as the greatest ever car, but I really like this car. Always have. Even when I drove around in the Blista Compact in "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City." Sub-Zero for me on this fine Honda.

They only ever sold the hot ones in the UK. So compared to the run of the mill hot hatches this was a cool little coupe. Almost a modern day MG Midget, if the midget had ever been a coupe. V-Tech arriving after a couple of years added even more to its appeal. Though it's let down a bit by an chassis that does not match the best of the European competition. Overall cool.

A tad surprised more people haven't voted on this one yet. I was already pretty surprised it hadn't already been nominated, I figured the thread would be aflame with discussion (relative to some, at least)
