anyone?

The match between Argentina and Uruguay was just epic, for argentina was just impossible to break the defensive block of Uruguay, Muslera (the goalkeeper) played and amazing match and every attack of uruguay was incredibly well planified, what an spectacular game.

Today we have Paraguay vs Brazil and Chile against Venezuela.

yea the Uraguay v Argentina match was amazing. So sad to see them go out when they are the host, and being a big Messi fan i was very upset about it. The second yellow for Mascherano should not have been. But any ways Uraguay played well and I like Forlan and Suarez as they had a good World Cup last summer also.

Can't believe Brasil are out also. I had them as my number 2 team after Argentina. Also Venezuela has surprised me as they have always been labelled a country of Baseball and not Football.

Now i just hope Uruguay wins

This Copa América has been a very strange one

The main reason I think Brazil left today is because they do not have a man with the firepower to be the newest No.9... Sure, they have the Jogo Bonito and crap... but they have no forwards right now... Pato is good, but he's young, Robihno isn't a goalscorer and Neymar is unproven... :yuck:

Despite the fact I don't like Luis Fabiano, I wonder why he wasn't called for the tournament... he's the best forward Brazil has atm...

yes i miss luis fabiano too, pato is a really good player but now he just has his gunpowder wet haha.

The qualifying to the 2014 world cup in sout america will be so good, all the teams (except Bolivia) are REALLY equal, all of them (ecuador one level down maybe) in a same high level.

I agree, it will be fun to watch :) I think we will see a surprise there also...

These are the Copa América 2011 Semifinal games:

Perú - Uruguay

Venezuela - Paraguay

The last of the South American "Big 3", Uruguay, is the favourite to conquer the tournament... but if we have learnt something from this particular Copa América... is that anything can happen... :)

I hope Paraguay win the tournament. Ever since I saw them leading 2 - 1 against Brazil in the group stage I have wanted them to reach the finals.

Also, how can you miss three penalties?

What a blunder for Brazil and Argentina... the 2 biggest powerhouses crash out. Argentina at home, and Brazil not even scoring a single PK.

I kind of want Uruguay to win. A few players are on my FC Porto side and I wanted to see a Uruguay vs Colombia match (same reason w/players) but Peru knocked them out. Peru last 2-0 last night to Uruguay. Peruvian coworker is not in today so I can imagine him drinking away his sorrows on the loss.

I don't like Paraguay simply for them having 1 player I can not stand.

The Final is ready... :)

Uruguay vs. Paraguay

Uruguay should be able to win this one... unless Paraguay has something to say on the field... I expect a very entertaning game :)

I haven't really followed this tournament but all I'm aware is Messi was played in the same position that he does for Barcelona in a 4-3-3 formation and quite frankly..he didn't play to anywhere near the standard we are used to see from him...Just goes to show without the quality of Xavi and Iniesta behind him, individually he's not as great as some people think.

But I hope Paraguay win tbh. I heard they have got the final without winning a single game in normal time and winning the knockout games via penalties. Correct me if I'm wrong but if that's true you'd think Paraguay definetly have luck on their side

I hope Paraguay don't win. I don't condone defensive football where the team just does whatever they can to push for penalty shootout.

I'm sure Uruguay can beat them easily though.

Regarding the comment on Messi and his performance during the Copa. Did you watch any of the Argentina games? He was pulling strings left right and center. His dribble count is off the charts and his passing percentage was again above average. The amount of times he fed Di(ve) Maria and he couldn't finish was unbearable. I believe he had a wonderful tournament and don't expect him to win all the matches on his own. He needs players to put the balls in the net if he is going to be the active play maker. Also having Lavezzi and Tevez play along with him was useless and once Aguero would come on or Higuain they were playing much better with him. Remember this is a team sport and if the rest of your team sucks ass, you will suck ass.

I havent actually watched any matches but I watched a video of him taking a free kick in one of the matches and it going way way wide. Below the comments suggested it summed up his tournament, and as far as im aware he hasnt scored.

This is Argentina's problem...

They can't play as a team...

I think Paraguay won't play defensive against Uruguay... They wouldn't survive, Uruguay isn't Brazil or Venezuela, they have the scoring power and team game to make their will on the field... They have to go on offense... Like I said, I expect a very open game... :)
