copying DVD's onto my hard drive... how?

well, the subject is a little misleading, because I'm able to copy it to my hard drive, but its in four seperate files, and if I want to watch the movie, I have to click the new file once the old one is done. It's annoying, I want there to be one BIG file that contains the whole movie. I used DVD Decrypter to copy it to my HD off the disc.

I don't intend to distribute this or anything, I just want the movie on my computer. If you're curious, its Napoleon Dynamite and Shaun of the Dead.

I have Nero. Is it capable of compiling a DVD video into a single 4Gb+ file which is playable in a software media/DVD player?

I haven't bothered looking at the Nero settings or preferences because I just use my DVD burner for backing up files and for copying huge amounts of data to give to people.

Will DVD ripping software compile an entire DVD into a single file? I've used stuff like DVD-Shrink and DVD-Decrypt but it doesn't stick everything in a single file, it just removes the macrovision and encryption crap so you can copy it off the disc and run it without the original disc.

Although, I've never tried looking at the settings for something like that. I still don't know why you'd want a single file for a DVD instead of a bunch of files in the same folder.

edit: The macrovision thing isn't anything to do with playing it on a PC, it's so you can play it through a VCR without the colours going all wonky. But it's one of the things DVD-Decrypt does.

I don´t know if Nero can rip it into one single file, because I always use Alcohol 120% since it´s not as heavy as Nero. But Alcohol let´s you choose the size of each file. Mine is set to make a new file every 4GB.

I don't understand. Make a new file every 4Gb? If you're just backing up files from your disc, what does it mean to "make a new file" every 4Gb? If you're backing up a DVD, does it reauthor the disc to put everything in a 4Gb file?

If you are ripping a DVD with more than 4GB it will be divided in two files.
