I was wondering if there is a way to copy your GT4 save game to another memory card without the data on the second card becoming corrupted.

I have tried it twice now, but every time I do it the copied data becomes corrupted, I believe that this is because the original GT4 save game is 'copy protected' but I am not sure.

Thankyou for your time.

I haven't had any trouble with this and I've done it several times, just be sure to do the copying in the memory card manager in the PS2 browser option you get when no game is in the machine, and not by saving a GT4 game over the top of another (you are probably doing this but I should mention it for the benefit of those who aren't aware).

Delete the main GT4 file on the memory card you are copying to (if one exists) and then copy the good file across. Just be sure not to get the cards mixed up!!!

If you have a problem with continually corrupt files, try reformatting the second card. Is it an official sony memory card or a 3rd party card?

I have been using the PS2 memory manager, but it still won't work.
What I am actually trying to do is to copy my original, which has roughly $250,000, and use a copy of my original to trade cars with the copied version. I am trying to load the game on card 2 and buy the Toyota Motor Triathlon thing for $200,000 off my original save so that it will then have $450,000. I don't know if this makes any sense to you, but it's kind of hard to put into words.

Thanks for your help.

P.S: Memory Card 1 is a genuine PS2 but the other memory card is a Third Party one

That's exactly what I've been doing without any problems, so I'd hazzard a guess that it's the el cheapo memory card that's causing the file to corrupt.

Do you have enough space on el Cheapo? or like Brock5000 stated it is a bad, bad, bad memory card.

I do not think the money you pay from memory card two for a car on memory card 1 gets added to the credits on memory card 1.
(I think this is what you meant.)
All that happens is you get the car in the garage on memory card 2 and you get the cost of the car deducted from the credits on memory card 2.
The bought car still stays in the garage on memory card 1.
