Belgian site Shizzle Games are reporting that the 360 will soon be launching with new names, which were first hinted at when Flynn uncovered those 360 holiday bundles. The Elite keeps its name, but the Premium looks like it's being changed to the Xbox 360 Pro and the Core's now called the Xbox 360 Arcade.

To coincide with these changes, the Arcade is apparently coming bundled with a 360 memory card which will be pre-loaded with 5 XBLA titles (two of which look like Pac-Man and Uno). The Pro, if this chart is to be believed, will also be sporting a new colour scheme, having a "silver finish" as opposed to the Elite's "black" and the Arcade's "standard finish".

No word on the rollout timeframe for the "replacement" models.

Yesterday I got an email from a fellow who said he had found an image of a holiday bundle for the 360 and as there wasn't much more information available, I put on my Sherlock Holmes hat and got to work. After some rummaging about, I was able to turn up not only the Elite Bundle, but one for the Pro system as well marked as eventually being available in the US. The bundle will include the system and it's accessories plus two games, Forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. These images were discovered on a website Microsoft uses to market their products and while there was no pricing information available, the Elite image was clearly marked as "Xbox 360 Elite Holiday Value Bundle." Judging by the name, one can assume that this will be the Xbox's bundles available for the upcoming Thanksgiving/Christmas shopping season. Unless of course they are saving it for Flag Day, which means we won't see it till spring of next year.

So, this is interesting... instead of dropping the price by another $50 this holiday season like some have thought, they're bundling Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Forza 2.

Thoughts?

What's this gaming system actually throwing in games PEOPLE WANT TO PLAY with a bundle? wow... how bout that. You can thank me later when you guys actually make money on this bundle. :dopey:

Go big... go pro...? wow... go lame?

I'm not suprised by this... Well, not much. :D
Last night before going to sleep I saw a commercial for the 360 being only $279.99.
Makes me wonder how things will be going for MS in another year.
At this point I'm inclinded to say MS is becoming more and more desperate.

When confidence in the product goes up, sales and profits will go up. 👍

As of now though, I feel like the price drops are representitive of the drop in confidence so many consumers are experiencing.

My buddy still hasn't taken care of his broken 360 and when I run into him the PS3 comes up more and more often.
That's the problem for MS right now... No matter how cheap the product becomes people just don't want to put up with prodcuts that fail. :indiff:

Just as an FYI, that's the tard pack, the actual Premium system is $350. They didn't slash the price by $130 if that's what you thought.

Is the official name now "Pro" instead of Premium? Guess they don't want people to confuse the two good consoles.

It doesn't sound like a bad idea, but it isn't as though they aren't offering them with bundles already. The X360s I was looking at while waiting for my computer to be ready yesterday already had the discounted price on them, furthermore, I believe that some of them came with NFS: Carbon, and others with Forza2.

...Personally, I'm waiting for my 360 to break so I can trade it in and spend an extra $40 to get the Elite...

So, they're basically adding a memory card, HDMI, 5 XBLA titles, and a wireless controller for the same price.

Smart move. 👍

So is this for Europe as well, or are the US going to be getting it first like with the Elite?

The new Aracde model seems like a good deal. I'm glad they didn't drop HDMI just for the upper models too. 👍

It looks like its heading to Europe first, but I could be wrong. They have been saying that we need to keep an eye out for the "Pro" bundles on shelves in the next few weeks on DL.TV, so I have no idea what that means, assuming they know something we don't. Still, my three rings of death can't come soon enough...

Just wondering: The X360 has had some issues with DVD playback over the past few weeks, do you think that would be enough of a problem to be able to trade it in a Best Buy?

Kotaku did a follow-up on the article and they confirmed with their sources that it'll be here in time for the holidays. I'm guessing we'll see more about this in a few days at Leipzig.

All I know is that MS is finally wising up and will finally give the Wii some competition.
