But aren't the vids and pics of gt4 we have seen so far in magazines and on the net use an enhanced gt3/gtc graphics engine? I read it does and not the Gt4 engine, I think that's correct because I see jaggies on the cars in some pics. Am I right?

im sorry, can you repeat the question in a form where it doesn't seem like you are talking in circles?

What I'm asking is, does gt4 right now use an enhanced gt3 graphics engine instead of the gt4 graphics engine because I have read that PD hasn't put the gt4 engine in yet.

As far as I know it's the GT3 Graphics Engine and I hope we don't even see the GT4 Engine until the game is released. Then we'll be totally blown away by the looks of EVERYTHING!!!!!!

I wouldn't get too excited, lets just wait & see. Better to have low expectations & be amazed then expect the impossible & be dissapointed ;)

Like I was with GT2 :p

I believe the graphics engine used in previews up until the Playstation Experience in London last week was actually the GT: Concept 2002 graphics engine.

The game at the Playstation Experience is supposed to have been the debut for the GT4 graphics engine. Lotus, over to you... :D

Wasn't the GT4 engine used in the Lupo mini-game they made for the Lupo racing team a long time ago? And if that was the GT4 engine, why would all the screenshots since then not be the GT4 engine? Usually, the engine is the first thing you build in a large game, so that you have a foundation to work with. Why would PD build cars and tracks before finishing the engine?

Edit: They are probably still PERFECTING the GT4 engine (like adding the upgrades to the AI, or implementing anti-aliasing), but I don't think the graphics in those screenshots are being produced with the GT3 or GTC engine. I could be wrong.

:D I thought the Lupo Cup game was done with the GTC2002 engine as well. The graphics WERE noticably better in GTC2002 than GT3, and at least the screenie of the Peugeot Courage C60 looks like GTC to me.

The Delta and the Citta di Aria course screenies posted recently look much, MUCH better though. To my poor, elderly eyes.

Well now....... :D I unfortunately didn't get a chance to have a go on one of the many GT4 set ups that where playable, but I did however get the chance to have 2 races on the battle stage ..1st race was at New York track in a RX8 and I slaughtered the guy then went through to the final where I raced some other guy around a track a bit similar to high speed ring in an Evo ...I unfortunately lost my nerve towards the end of the final lap and gave it all away on a stupid move :banghead: :banghead: Ron was at the side of me and told me to CUT THE CHICANE HE'S GOING TO CUT IT! what I do?... I negotiated the chicane then changed my mind to cut across at last minute the guy comes flyin up my arse knocks into me sends me spinning and goes on to take the victory and a silver ps2 and a years Broadband :( :( :( the nerves of it all got to me :O :O I won a copy of GT4 on it's release instead.
But to answer your question on graphics ... it looked pretty much the same as GT3 to me :irked:

Here I am in the background on the stage , just before my final round :O

Fuji, that'll be.

You got beat by a lawnmower? What a bastard...!

Oh, and from the pages of Conner, famed GTRP provider of GT4-related magazine scans, check these pics of Fuji, real & GT4ed...:

Yeah it might have been that track , and yeah I hate that bastard  I'll have nightmares over that forever :(

I hope he was booed off stage for that... You try and keep an honest line, and he starts Yvan Muller-ing... :D
