Players beware, entering an online lobby caused my PS3 to crash tonight, resulting in a hard restart that corrupted my HDD. The game was apparently writing to the HDD, trying to save, as the game crashed and resulted in me having to wipe my entire hard disk. This is not a sympathy post, more of a warning to those that either spent hard-earned credits from racing or those that used the money glitch - back up your game saves to USB and do it often. Learn from my mistake and protect your garage.
 
Thank you for this warning my friend. Yesterday my PS3 crashed while racing online. Gonna backup my data to a USB soon.

I didn't, unfortunately. I had some backed up onto other accounts on the PS3 incase my current was ever corrupted, but I wasn't anticipating an entire HDD meltdown. Atleast the HDD is unharmed, but I lost a lot of other games' data as well. Luckily I was able to boot up my original HDD and restore my GT5 and some older data, but I never had a chance to do it with GT6. I'll survive, though.
